The next Dominion of Canada $1 bill is 1897 (DC-12)

It was "green" for only one year and then they changed the colour to "brown" (DC-13) so that it wouldn't be confused with the $2 bill which was also green ...

Post-Your-Paper-Money-Collections.

The next Dominion of Canada $1 bill is 1898 (DC-13a "Inward Ones")

Post-Your-Paper-Money-Collections.

NOTE => there was also a version with "Outward Ones" ... the ones on the back of the bill are either facing outward, or inward (sorry, I should have shown that ... my bad)

Oh, and the portrait is of the Countess and Earl of Aberdeen (by the way, most of these dudes on these bills are Governor Generals of Canada)

Here is the green $2 bill from 1897 (Edward VII ... he was actually merely Eddie the Prince of Wales at the time)

Post-Your-Paper-Money-Collections.

Eddie was a total ladies-man => not unlike the Wilt Chamberlain of his day => rumour has it, Eddie had at least "55" liasons during his marriage (Eddie was a swinger!)

The next Dominion of Canada $1 bill was 1911 (DC-18d)

Lord and Lady Grey (NOTE => this was the awesome sports-dude that created the The Grey Cup => CFL Football Trophy)

sorry the bill is kinda crappy (I plan on upgrading this bad-boy)

The next Dominion of Canada $1 bill was 1917 (DC-23a)

The hottie in the portrait is Princess Patricia Ramsay (known as the Princess Pat note) ... she is a grand daughter of Queen Victoria (Prince Arthur was her Dad) ... Arthur was the 7th child and the 3rd son of Queen Victoria

During WW-I, Patricia was named the Colonel-in-Chief of Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (apparently Patricia was pretty polular with the Canadian people!)

Post-Your-Paper-Money-Collections.

we're almost through with the $1 Dominion of Canada history lesson, kids! (sorry, I start getting into it when I show my stuff ... thanks for listening)

The next Dominion of Canada $1 bill is 1923 (DC-25j)

=> Enter King George-V

Post-Your-Paper-Money-Collections.

This is the last/final Dominion of Canada $1 bill ... the next $1 note was a 1935 "Bank of Canada" note (oh my, that is a pretty series)

... but that's it for now ... sorry, I tried to show all of Dominion of Canada $1 bills today, but I'd already previously shown $4 notes and a random 1935 $50 note, so I apologize that I'm all over the board (I get excited and I wanna post it all at once)

Steve, I take it that most of your collection is Dominion of Canada stuff?

You have an amazing collection. I might just have to pass my username onto you!

Not sure? => probably either that 1935 French $50 that I posted (only 32,500 printed), or perhaps the 1878 $2 bill (currently only 19 notes registered) ... it's hard to tell?

Funny => sometimes you luck-out and get really good deals at auctions (you end-up buying stuff at a fraction of what it's listed for), but sometimes you have to pay through the nostrils to get something that you really need or want ...

Often the most expensive ones, or rarest ones, aren't my "favorite" ones ... it depends what day it is ...

Since we are on a Dominion of Canada roll, I thought I would post these ones. The middle $0.25 was probably my best find - AU to UNC Hyndman-Saunders. I like the 1923 $2 since Edward VIII didn't make it to any Canadian coinage and only a couple of notes as the Prince of Wales.

I'm in the same boat, trying to finish my French notes. It's more a case of getting some of them in grades I can live with that the actual price.

Since I am in scanning mode and someone did ask about the $50, I thought I would post up my favorite.

Those are very nice notes, canuck1us ...

Ummm, I've already posted the four x $4 bills ... but here is their replacement => the first Dominion of Canada $5 bill (DC-21e) ...

Vignette of the passenger train "The Ocean Limited" travelling through the Wentworth valley in Nova Scotia ... ya gotta like the train notes!
