Boring Monday, let's do some exercises. it's easy for gold and platinum coins to achieve that number, so let's exclude them:)

for example, I have a roll of 2006P 50C, mintage is 98,000, so I own 1.276/5000 or 1/3920

I have that roll as well, makes us neighbours. Actually I have two rolls, so I guess I own the house beside you and the rental across the street.

This is interesting, I usually think of coins in terms of grade scarcity as opposed to actual scarcity.

I haven't ventured into graded and mule coins yet, it's easier to stick with modern coins with published numbers

lol... trying to corner the market?

I own zero 2006p 50c, but SilverBug (50) + Ugly (100) = 150 of 98,000

at one time I've owned:
600 x 2011 Grizzlies. 600/1,000,000 or 1/1667
147 x 2010 20 for 20 SML. 147/200,000 or 1/1360
79 x 1989 PF SML. 79/30,000 or 1/380

the best was
73 x 2010 Piedfort SML. 73/9,000 or 1/123

@poboxw wow, you sound like a dealer, did you corner the piedford SML?

currently I have

6 F15 2010 SML 6/5,000 = 1/833
4 2010 Piedfort SML 4/9,000 = 1/2,250
2 set zodiac SML 2/5,000 = 1/2,500

Not sure if this counts, but I have 2 sets of Perth Mints Tanks of WWII that have a mintage of 5000, so 1/2500?

@SilverBug: not a dealer, wish I was/could but for the time being, I am unfortunately just a lowly opportunistic hoarder. In my defense I now only own one Piedfort SML. The rest were auctioned off, given away to (stolen by) family, or traded or bought by friends.
We got 100+ of the first 20 for 20 to give away at our wedding. We thought it'd be more useful than trinkets with our photos on it :)

@poboxw, giving away 20 for 20 as gift is pretty good idea. you know that canada post can print stamp out of your own photo, I guess one day mint will follow

I picked up another roll today so I have a rental house too, actually I have another 2006P in my 50C album, which gains me a little more squarefeet

I have 12 rolls of 2006P 50C, mintage is 98,000 (3920 rolls), so I own 1/326. I originally had 20 rolls but sold 8 rolls in 2007 and 2008 on ebay. I may sell anoth couple rolls this year or maybe not.

You own a hotel

it seems the this coin is the easiest to corner, someone could spend $100,000 at that time to buy off all the 2006P 50C and destroy most of them accidently, then only 1 roll survived... just dreaming

At the time you could buy all 3920 rolls for $78,204. ($19.95 per roll).
