I found this Type 1 in a lot on an obscure online auction site. It's listed with some other SLQs and Washingtons being sold as bullion. Pictures were poor but I had the seller send me some better ones. I am 99% sure that this is a 1917 but I wanted that 1% satisfied before I passed on it. What are your thoughts?

This is a 1917.

There are a few ways to determine this, here is a picture that someone else had posted on the forum a few times, its a great reference. After looking at these for a while, you will be able to determine a 1916 from a 1917 in a matter of seconds. Like everything, practice makes perfect.

Wow, this is so great I now have a better idea about what I am looking at when it comes to dateless slq's I think !

WOW. I never knew those quarters had dates.
Thanks for posting those info photos. Printing them out for a possible future find could be beneficial.

Yep, that's what I expected. I did compare it to the diagnostic pix that CB posted but having never studied them before, I was just looking for independent confirmation of my diagnosis. Thanks everyone.
