I went down to the hotdog stand at Bunnings and bought their change off them - my favourite way of getting noodling coin. Changed $185 Aside from all of the $1 commemorative coins being abundant, and my first 2016 50 cent, my best finds were 1 x 20 cent NSW Federation 1 x 20 cent WA federation 1 x 2 dollar 2012 plain Remembrance day 1 x $1 1985 that looked like it had just come out of hiding Very pleased

I often look through the till float from my son's business and usually find something of interest but yesterday they just kept coming ... and all from $167 of noodling!

Quote: .. are your 2001 s rotated? Just had a look ... and sadly no. On another note, last week my son told me that he had found a purple $2 coin while preparing the weekly banking. The next day when I asked him where it was he said that he had completely forgotten about it until he saw it going down the chute in the bank's coin deposit machine ... not impressed to say the least!

Quote: do all 2002 1 dollar outback have different twos ? on the date Different when compared to what? Definitely different compared to the obverse. I guess the reverse 2002 is designed to appear hand written. This is an image of the date area on a regular 2002 $1 Outback coin.

Quote: on the Obverse the two twos look a bit different to each other OK, I see what you mean. They do look different and whether or not they're all like that I don't know. I would assume they are until someone comes up with a coin where both 2's on the Obv are the same.

I hadn't noticed the different 2's on the obverse before, The second "2" has a longer base.

Most of my 2002 $1's are pretty beat up but these do show the longer base and I fancy that the 1st 2's base is a bit thicker. Well spotted oindarwin $1 2002 Different Date Style

I have just had another closer look at the rest of the 2002 circulating designs and the 5c, 10c and the 20c coins also have the smaller base on the first "2" the 50c and the $2 have the same sized base on the "2" Here are the images of the dates on the other affected coins. 5c 10c 20c
