Here is a great site - helped me find out what was wrong on my modern, silver Chinese fake. I knew mine was fake b/c I deliberately bought it to become educated. If this site had not shown me the Chinese mixed wrong font and back dies, mine would be very hard to tell. http://www.earlydollars.org/wizarddate3.htm

From the link Earle42 gave, your pictures were a near perfect match. I would be willing to bet it is real, but I have my fingers crossed for you

I am no expert on this type of coin but that one looks good to me. Great score!

I agree this looks like a good one, with date numerals, stars, and dentils all accurate with respect to genuine coins. The wear pattern and general color scheme are also consistent with genuine circulated coins in the VF range. There is a flattish area along the rim at 4:30 on obverse (corresponding to 1:30 on the reverse) which could be damage or maybe a slightly clipped planchet.
The advice to contact a reputable dealer like JJ Teaparty is sound and I'd take it. If they think it's real the next step is to send it to a grading service. PCGS is probably your best bet to maximize potential sale price if you want to sell.

To me it looks good. I don't see anything wrong with it and I believe it is a B-10 variety. Sorry don't have the rarity rating.

I'm by far no expert on these coins, but is it me or do the dentils seem to be uneven? Maybe that's a common trait, but I honestly would not know.

I've been trying to ID the die marriage, but can't manage it without some clearer pictures.

Thanks again Guys I will post better pics if I can. Never had a coin graded before so will send it off to one of the recommended services. I think if it's real which I think it is it's a once in a lifetime thing. This coin was wrapped in a piece of paper at the bottom of a bunch of average coins and some Morgans and I don't think anybody including myself new it was there. Will post how it came out Paul

I'm on the edge of my seat following this; when I first saw the pics I must have stared for ten minutes just trying to find something wrong, and I couldn't! Having grown up in Boston I used to go into JJ Teaparty all the time when I was a kid, back in the day when Bromfield Street was loaded with coin dealers. I wish you the best; keep us posted on your results!

I see where Teaparty is going Internet only. Jake's (Chicago) did that about ten years ago.
