Received a pair of 50 cent Titanic coins today from the folks in Winnipeg. Incidentally, and for what it's worth, the COA reads xxxx/15,000 so the debate is still on whether there are 5k in clamshells or 15k (with 10k in the CP sets). However, both that I received are numbers > 10,000 so maybe the clamshells are number 10k to 15k?

CC, did you order anything else from them? Just wondering if they ship out whatever is available or wait till the order is filled.

Yes I ordered some other coins so the order was being held until the Titanics came in. The others where from prior years and in stock when I ordered.
My understanding is that they only ship when all of the coins are available so if you ordered other new coins, they won't ship until they have the full order ready.

Quote: My understanding is that they only ship when all of the coins are available so if you ordered other new coins, they won't ship until they have the full order ready. Not necessarily true. I have had bit and pieces shipped of some orders and still waiting for parts of an order I placed 4 months ago. Seams to be no logic to how they ship. They shipped my group of seven and 1812 1/4 gold coins separately even though they were parts of other orders. They shipped my silver baby coin even though I ordered it with some Titanic coins. I finally sent the mint a nasty gram today. I don't understand how they plan on staying in business with such awesome customer service. I've recently got into collecting US, UK and Australian coins. I might have to scale down my purchases of Canadian coins. In the long run I really don't think the Mint cares. As long as they sell out coin after coin their priority will be new releases and customer service can wait.

I don't think cc-Ottawa is talking about the RCM in Winnipeg (only circulation coins minted here), rather one of the Winnipeg dealers.

The Ottawa mint will send individual items as they become available. Sorry, my misunderstanding.

The mint has sent an email today to inform me that the coin I ordered some months ago will finally ship.

Quote: The mint has sent an email today to inform me that the coin I ordered some months ago will finally ship. Me too. Feb 20 to May 14 (assuming it arrives Monday). Just 84 days. I suppose I should be happy that it's (finally) shipping but why did the mint stop providing tracking numbers? Over the years, I would guess it's been about 50/50 whether or not I get a tracking number but I honestly can't recall that last time a ship notification had a tracking number but it must be a couple of years now. The e-mail has a place for the number, it's just always blank. I did e-mail the mint about this but got no reply.

I miss the mid-60s, where you ordered, paid by check, and four-six months later, might get a box of coins, or a refund. Communication? No way!

Ya, I miss the 60's too 'cause back then, we still believed the moon was made of green cheese. darn NASA killed that idea.
Don't even get me started on Al Gore for inventing the Internet. Ignorance sure was blissful.
