I'm at a VG8 - when looking at photograde and grading guides. Thoughts?

Actually after looking more, I'm at AG-G. I think the reverse is missing much more detail than what VG would need

Yeah, VG is definitely a lofty grade. I agree with Phankins in that it's a ballpark AG piece. The reverse rim denticles would show pretty well on a VG grade.

I would grade this as a G-4. The obverse appears to be a G-6 while the reverse is an AG/G.

Yes I VG I think is pretty optimistic. To me it looks more like a G4.

I'll weigh in at "good."
Bottom line: a common date. I would wait until a nicer example presents itself.
It is difficult, but not at all impossible, to find better examples.
That reverse is very often worn away well before the obverse. It is "par for the course" with Barber coins.
And oh, where is the third letter in "liberty?"
A good and nothing more.

G-6 sounds fair, the rim really is reasonable for a G+ grade. The pictures often accentuate 'rim weakness' more than it really looks like, as long as its not worn over the lettering it will do better than AG.
