Mr Click Quote: Domain 555, Still reading your updates. I'm hoping to see a break through soon. Me too. In my craziest thoughts-ideas-fears, I am wondering if the FED-CASH SYSTEM is going to destroy-void-retire the IKEs in the CI-FED-CASH system. On one hand, it would break my heart. On the other hand, the IKEs I have on hand will instantly appreciate. (some)

What banks are you guys working with to order Ike's? I've been trying to order them through Bank of America which here uses Loomis, but they say they order coins from their "cash vault" not Loomis directly. The manager contacted their cash vault and was told they did not have any Ike's. Wondering if another bank, a credit union perhaps would be able to order from the CI, which would order from the FED. Thoughts?

Thoughts? My Credit Union is not preforming for me. There is another thread going with a lot of other ideas-thoughts-opinions, on "LACK of IKE bags". Might check it out I use BoA (BRINKS) and my local Credit Union. But I drop by any bank, if it is my way, for singles etc. Got 3 last week that way. I feel we might get a break through soon enough. I really believe the CI and the FED-CASH systems has boo-co BAGs. The change was so sudden. First I had great results. Then ZIPPO. I even got a DOUBLE on my 2nd and 3rd bags. Got one loaded in my car. Head teller told me to come back tomorrow. Came back (MONDAY) and got next bag. The bag was full of holes and dripping with IKEs on my garage floor. One palpable change on the LCD's attitude is: Six months ago when I was getting BAG after BAG at face, those good 'ol boys very quiet reluctant to buy my at face ($1.00) Now I see two local dealers SELLING 'em. IMHO IKEs are starting to get the over due RESPECT of more collectors.

Jbuck This might have been my 2nd bag. Naturally I was conserned about a "1000" full count. But no worries mate. My health (strength) issues are now in question. So I just drug 'em in. About 20-25 were on the floor. I worked out a system with a little 2 wheel cart after that. Fifty pounds is a grunt for me now. Sadly, my little cart is sitting gathering dust. This bag might have been the best ever bag. See below This box had one ASE, one Morgan, one Peace and two Indian Buffaloes. The other two coins were from another bag. Those were the GOOD 'ol DAYS

I contacted two credit unions in my area and they won't even entertain the idea of ordering Ike's. Unless something big changes within the FED-CI system I think it's a bust. I'll keep ordering boxes of halves for now!

Domain: I just got back to this thread from a month ago. I misspoke. I had Type 1 & 3 1976 P &Ds, not type 2. As to Peglegs, I have no idea what those are. I've never searched them that close- only for the 71D FEV and 76 Type 2.
I have never gotten anything else interesting- just business strikes, but sometimes some nice BU pieces.
I sold more than 300 last year for 1.07 apiece to a dealer. Was really surprised a dealer would pay me above face value for them. So right now, my IKE stock is low. I maybe have 100 left, mostly nice BUs and now have about 4-5 FEV 71-D. I've probably searched maybe $1000-1500 range total over the last 10 years, all of it is loose coins from tellers.
I would love to search Ikes- I think the series is a real sleeper and I would bet there are more proofs, some 73 NIFC coins, and maybe occasional Silver dollars (Eagles, Morgans, Peace, rounds, etc). BU Ikes MS63+ are probably hard to come by.
Many years ago when I was a boy in Philly/NJ, I remember Ikes circulating at the Atlantic city casinos, so they got worn down a lot, kind of like some halves you see with no reeded edges. Halves also circulated in casinos.

Domain, thanks for the reference to the other thread, good info there. I just opened a new account at a bank offering $200 to new customers (might be a new pick up bank for halves, Gaurda CI). While talking to the banker, I brought up ordering Ike's, and looks like she is willing to do some research and calling around to learn how to order from her CI or FED directly. I'll let you guys know what I hear back.
