I've been sitting here looking through rolls and have found very little exciting stuff. However, that's probably what I expected. I read about y'all finding all this great stuff and wishing it was me. Then I went over to the found in rolls website and saw all that there and about fell over. Makes me want to look more and more.

OTOH, I don't see how y'all go through your rolls so quickly. Someone might send in a msg about such and such a coin they found and mention the unique qualities that can only be seen with magnification. How in the world a person can take time enough to look at all these coins under magnification and still search a zillion rolls in such a short time baffles me. It's been over a week since I got 20 rolls of nickels. I still have about 8 rolls to search and I spend hours a day playing at this hobby. I must be slower than molasses.

Still having fun and not running any races.

Sure. It is http://www.foundinrolls.com/

It belongs to Bill O'Rourke on our forums here. I'm going to go look at it some more later.

I found 5 mid 80s proof pennies (86, 87, 88), heavily corroded- all came out of two customer-wrapped rolls. I tossed them back into circulation since the were culls. Let me know if anyone finds them again!

I got my box-o-pennies and I went through 9 rolls and so far.....
wheaties
41-s 51 58-D (2)
44-D 52-D
46-D 55-D (3-1 AU)
48 57-D

I'm sorting them by year and taking out the possible error variety years. I'll update my findings when I get through the box.

Are copper cents worth more or do you just recirculate them?

MarkJ -
It costs more than the value of a cent to actually produce a cent. Copper cents are worth more than the copper plated zinc ones. Personally, I've been saving everything pre-82. Might not be worth too much now but maybe one day when the cent has been done away with (heaven forbid - I like my cents!) I'll still have a few.

I think I will save all my copper cents too!

Went through 30 rolls tonight.

5 wheat.
1944
1956 x2
1957
1958

Haven't counted my coppers yet but there are quite a few!

I think I will get a $50 bag tomorrow.

My sister in law was over last night so I made her look through coin rolls with me. Here's our totals:

1 box of nickels:
1 1939
1 1940
1 1949S
1 1952S
1 20 pence coin (UK)
1 2000 Canada 5 cent coin

2 boxes of pennies:

1 Bermuda cent (my first! I'm assuming this is what it is, it says Commonwealth of the Bahamas on the back)
6 wheat cents, including one that I needed for my album!
3 Canada cents

Not a great day searching, but filled a hole and the 20p was neat!
