Not much good roll searching today. 1 box of halves got me 1 1968 40%, and 900 cents got me 1 1957 wheat and a cent sized St Christopher medal.

So your talking about one of those coin counter machines. You overflowed it with non-silver. The teller came and opened up the machine and there was a bag inside that contained all that? Never would have thought might try this.

searched 1000 cents and got 1926 1942 1946 and a 1978 that I think has been chromed.

Got an interesting run with some Brinks (paper-wrapped) penny boxes I picked up last week... Higher than usual wheat count, including a dozen 1944-Ps, but even more interesting were ten early 50s D-mint cents in XF condition or better, with three of them red or red-brown. Also had an AU red 1941-P. Guess somebody lost part of their coin collection...

I sorted a box of pennies earlier this afternoon. Found a '12 and a bright shiny '60 Canadian. Also found 9 other '40s & '50s wheat's.

Hi, I'm a new member to this site & string. I've been hunting through rolls of coins for years, from cents to halves. This past week I went through a box of dimes and only found a 1957 (about average for a box). I also scoured a few of the local banks and came up with over $1600 in halves. After going through all that I ended up with the following: 40% x 14 1964 x 4 Proofs x 2 (1971 & 2001)
These results are better than what I've found lately. I've hit a dry spell starting in early Feb. Don't think I've found more than 50 silver coins since then. In earlier years I would have had much more. Has anyone else seen the same trend?
As for pennies, this is what I do. First at the beginning of the month I buy $50 worth in customer wrapped cents. I find that I get better results from these than from fed-wrapped boxes. I average 10-20 wheats per month along with a few other things like dimes, foreign coins (various countries & denominations), Canadian King George cents (I'm less than 2 hrs from Canada, so I find Canadian cents by the handful each month and am able to pick out the older coins), novelty coins (items & symbols stamped into the coin's field), and the occasional error coin. Also I rarely get exactly 5000 cents for my $50, so I keep track as to how much I gain or lose. So far I'm ahead 300-400 coins. I'll let you know my tallies next time.
