I was out of town last Saturday and located a bank near where I was staying. I called them up and asked if they had any half dollars. The teller said "Yes, but they're the old style. Is that OK?" I had to think about it, hmmm, do I want old half dollars?..... "Yeah, that's OK!"
The reality wasn't as great as I had imagined, but in the $140 worth that they had were 3 Franklins, 2 Walkers, 3 1964-D Kennedys, and 10 silver-clad. Not quite the mother lode, but pretty good!

You guys sure are lucky. I found one Indian Head penny in a box. The bank doesn't have halves hardly ever. ive found a few War Nickels in 40 dollars of nickels once. A few silver dimes, and 1 silver quarter I got back in change from Walmart

I picked up a box of halves today I had ordered. As far as silver, I got skunked. All I found was this '03-D. I pick up another box tommorow, maybe I'll have better luck...

Went through $650 in halves this week and only got 6 40%, all from one roll.
Finished my $50 in cents and got 17 wheats, a dime, 1951 Canadian king George 6 cent, 1934 Canadian King George 5 cent, and 1980 canadian cent with a %5 clipped planchet. Not bad for $50 in pennies.

Quote: If you want halves, you may have to ask your bank to order them in for you. i wish, I can hardly get a box of cents a week, I dont think they let under 18 have an account anyway. but speaking of cents. I got the box today and have went though 10 dollars and have found 83 coppers and that includes 3 wheat cents (1958d, 1958 and 1954s F/VF).they looked at me weird, I'm used to it though and asked if I was going pay someone in all pennies. ;) I'm going to check 10 more dollars later tonight. Also got a 39 nickel in change at the store pretty rough shape maybe good.

Nod, maybe you should switch over to nickels ;) You should be able to find some silver in those.

I finished searching 2 boxes of dimes and 1 full and 1 partial box ($80) of nickels. I found 5 silvers between the 2 boxes of dimes. All of them Roosevelts. In the partial box of nickels all I found these D mint WJ Bisons that look like they just came from the mint. I think somebody cashed in part of their stash. Or they were stolen. The other box didn't have anything except this beauty. I haven't found one of these in a while...

Went through $30 in Halves. Zilch. I also got $50 in nickels. Found a few from the 40's & 50's but nothing worth keeping. Next week, a full box of nickels.

I searched a box of dimes and 2 boxes of nickels. I found a '62 Roosevelt and an '07 5 Pence in the dimes. I found 2 war nicks, an '02 20 Pence, an '03 Mexican Peso and a pre-82 Canadian in the nickel boxes.
