I don't feel comfortable buying gold coins right now. For one thing, it's way too expensive for me and well, hum my wife does not share my enthusiasm when it comes to expensive coins. Gold has come down $250/oz since September and I feel the trend may continue. I may be wrong and that's OK too.
One exception:
Now that the penny has become NCLT, we will have tons of new offerings - and a 14K, 22K or pure gold penny I'm sure is on the roadmap. That one I might buy.

Just noticed the 25 cent coins of the bird and Bee come with a COA but the new Dino does not have a COA wonder what is up with that.

COA for the dino coin overkill since it'll come in a card (it'll come in a card right?

Dino is in a clamshell.
I don't see anything suggesting that the bee quarter, also in a clamshell, has a numbered COA. The other coin in the series, painted ladybug, was not serialized
The bird is a continuation of a series and the other coins have all been serialized. They kinda have to keep that up.
Still, I think any coin with a defined mintage should have a numbered COA. Just my opinion.

Yup - Nice little coin for sure. And the first of 4 in the series. And even the other sleeve packaging has 'glow-in-the-dark elements'.

"Photo luminescent will not wear"! Awesome! Wondering how long is it going to glow after 60 seconds of sunlight?

^I wonder if luminescence will be part of the grading if you send it in for grading?

Quote: mint website says bee is serialized that means COA is with it It does say serialized on the spec tab but not on the packaging description. Hopefully the former is correct.

Can one of you masters do me a favour and post some more details about the 1kg silver maple leaf forever? I have been dreaming about it since this thread started and might just have to jump on it once these coins are released to the public. Thanks in advance!

Previous coin in series sold out on launch day! A collecting opportunity not to be missed!
This numismatic tribute to Canada's treasured national symbol was launched last year with a coin crafted in an astounding one kilogram of fine silver (99.99% pure). It's a breakthrough innovation we first brought to the world in 2007, and year after year proved to be one of the most sought-after acquisitions among collectors.
Special features: • GST/HST exempt. • 1 kg of fine silver (99.99% pure). • Limited to 1,200 coins worldwide. • Serrated edge and image relief adds to your coin's uniqueness. • Hand polished! The field (flat background) has a highly hand polished mirror-like finish.
Design: A trilogy of maple leaves; the spirit of Canada's national flag echoed in the leaf proudly centered in the foreground. Inspired by the iconic maple leaf design that has graced Canada's one-cent circulation coin since 1937.
Packaging: Each coin is encapsulated and presented in a handsome Canadian maple wood box lined with black flock and protected by a customized sleeve.
