Quote: Winnipeg dealer re-raises price to $199.95 and accepts only phone orders. After a while they accept online order again. Soon the mint will move it to the Last Chance section.

My theory is that dealers have an obligation to sell at the mint prices while the mint has the item in stock. Hence Winnipeg dealer starts at $140, increases as mint is 'sold out', then drops back to $140 when mint releases more.
Mint gets more from cancelled pre-orders?
Vancouver and Kitchener dealers are holding back their allotment of GBs waiting for the mint to sell out so they can sell at a higher price.

I just went to the Post Office and was able to pre-order one through them. Actually, they already reserved it for me knowing I would want it. It doesn't seem like it is that hard to get.

Wow, Talk about saturation. Although the Bees seem to be selling well above $200, there are almost 30 ebay listings for these coins. And they haven't even been released yet. I can only imagine how many of these will be listed once they ship.

I do appreciate the boost in value it has given to my ladybug coin. Several recently sold again in the $325 and up category!

Quote: How they come up with their retail price I don't know other than it being a marketing strategy to show customers how much they "saved."
Last summer, Kroger's had their 6 oz house brand iciclecream on "manager's special". 25ยข, regular $1.09. Not once did they ever charge more than a quarter, but I "saved" a lot of money that summer.

No worries. At this rate, the next coin will probably have mintage of 20,000 :-).

I spoke to the post office today and they told me they were sold out. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

How could it be sold out at the Post Office before it was even posted online?
