Personally, I've always included SBA's in the count, long before the recent posts.

I was including Anthonys also in my counts. I always spend them first when they come in a roll. I don't want to confuse them with quarters so I get rid of them fast. I wonder if anyone spent a Morgan (who would?) if the person on the receiving end would even know what it was.

Even still, this is a fun project. I just didn't spend any coins today.

A friend of mine works retail and an elderly woman paid her with an 1895-S Morgan. She bought it out of the register and is still holding onto it. I'm not sure she knew what she had on her hands, but because of its age alone, she knew it was special.

Just opened a bag of 2012-P Sacagaweas that I intend to mostly spend, and have a bag of 2012-D waiting. The design this year is great, but the condition of the bagged coins is not. The rolled direct ship rolls I got last year were not in great condition generally, but they were better than this. I guess I'll go with rolls next time.

Spent 4 when buying pizza.

My son got a hold of a couple 2012 Native Americans... so three of them went in to buy ice cream. Also, I spent 6 garfields on lunch.

$98,250.

Also, I'm going to mention this thread in my forthcoming Flip of a Coin.

It has been a few days since I recorded what I spent, so here goes.

3 dollars coins for drinks at coin club meeting. 2 dollar coins and one half dollar at grocery store. 1 of each at Qdoba for a burrito. 2 dollar coins on the bus. And 6 dollar coins and 2 half dollars at the flea market. This $16 total.

$98,234 to go.

I love this thread. It gives me a new purpose for spending the dollar coins. I love people's reactions when I spend them and I love to talk about it. I am in it until we reach 100,000! Oh, and a nice plug in CoinWeek from cc99999.
