That's basically it, Erik. Cut in half and the hole on top enlarged a bit. I use two clip on desk lamps for light, one above and one on the side.

Brilliant! I have a gallon jug of milk that I need to finish up and then I'll give it a shot.

Sorry to derail the thread a bit, but now back to our regularly-scheduled program. I just checked my order and mine won't ship until late September. Bleah. Should give me plenty of time to practice my milk jug photography. ;)

I'm so mad I didn't have enough $ on hand this week to order a 70 set from silvertowne and now sold out, I checked lc coins its $293 w/ shipping. I still think thats not to bad considering all other RP's in 70 are at $500+! Maybe I can part with the $293 on Fri, if they still got em, didn't think S.T would sell out that quick. Anyone think they will get more in, or other sites selling 70's?

As the price go's up, sending them in to PCGS sound like a good call..
$150.00 per set..
$36 First Strike..ea set..
$9..ship per set ea way..
$28 for grading...ea set..
$2 mis. ea set..
$225.00 per set...
I just need to get some PRDC and RP 70's
I sent my coin's w/out FS, PCGS sent an email and asked if I wanted to add FS and I did....

You could try and call and see if they will, but its anyones guess. No clue how many theyve sent in or sold, this thread alone produced quite a few sales of them. Coin mart is supposed to have them for 275 but either havent gotten them or sold out already. The LLC price isn't bad at all, I would probably go with that to make sure you get it before they all sell out and the price spike from that happens

I just found my credit card has been charged by silvertowne, but I called them yesterday and a lady told me it will take 14-20 days for them to send and get the coin back from PCGS and NGC.

Hope they won't cancel the order since they have charged me.

My silvertowne were supposed to ship today too.

On a side note looks like the overall quality of this set seems to be down to put it nicely. Just got an email from coin mart saying they will be be getting back less than expected for 70s and there's been a delay. The less than expected seems to be a theme for the big boys selling this.

For those waiting on those sets to come back in stock I would jump on the llc sets while you can.

I

Nice set up, but where is the camera, do you hold it by hand over the top of the jug?

I use a copy stand and have the camera mounted directly above the item, like the idea of a milk jug, will experiment with side lights (both sides) and keep the top open for the camera.

Yep, with a good amount of light the shutter speed is fast enough that I don't need a tripod or a stand.
