Quote: This Coin and the 25 cents Bumble bee one; which one is worth to buy? Both, I bought both. But it depends on what you want to do. If your buying for your self with no expectation of future gain, either coin is great. If your looking to make money, hard to say. If we could predict that we'd all be millionaires. But what you like is what I always say.

I think the grosbeak is a better showing coin imo. In regards to the bee, I think that people would choose the glass bee over the regular one which I think would make it less sought after. Just my Two Cents....

When you can't find a glass bee for less than $300 and the painted ones can still be bought for $50 some might settle for the painted version. Especially if buying as a gift for someone.

I got my Rose-breasted Grosbeak coin yesterday, but the bird's eye is not as clear as the image that post on RCM website. Is it normal or my coin in the defected one. Anyone has their Rose-breasted Grosbeak coin in hand?, pls let me know if your coin is the same as mine or different. Thanks

RE: OP - First time buying from the mint.
This was my first time buying anything from the Mint and I will NEVER do it again. I ordered my $20 for $20 on May 17th and I just received them 2 items yesterday and the remaining today, I've read numerous posts here and other places yakking about their outrageous lag time for shipping.
My question is, has anybody truly scrutinized their shipping policies? I scaled their website and pulled information regarding their 'shipping' time lines, methods we "choose" to pay for and their "processing" time. Each of them were inconsistent with each other. But! I did piece it all together and I HAVE proven, using their words how they are conducting unfair business under the Consumer Protection Act. They did and have broken a contract between them and I and I will not sit here and see it happen over and over again.
Tomorrow I will call them to see what they have to say. This is unacceptable for such a large organization.

@4228, think of this as a hobby and it's supposed to give joy and happiness. They're terrible but it's not worth the headache!

4228 - you say you ordered the coins on May 17th..and received them today (May 30th)? Thats pretty good shipping time if you ask me, especially from a large organization that has thousands of orders to ship out. I dont think 13 days (under 2 weeks) is cause to complain....however I do hate the fact that I ordered my group of seven coin in mid april...and STILL says processing, THAT sucks. Regardless, I would agree with you that RCM does have horrible shipping time and update system

@4228: You mentioned you placed an order on 17 May and that you received it yesterday (29 May) -- that's less than two weeks from order to mailbox. I don't find that timeframe to be outrageous at all or out of step with other mints around the world. Now, while it is true that the RCM has been suffering through a number of delivery issues in 2012 -- and multiple revised shipping dates can be frustrating -- they are following the general consumer protection guidelines by providing delivery updates, allowing delayed orders to be cancelled and not charging credit cards until product actually ships. I agree with tocoins, coin collecting is supposed to be a hobby, a way to relax and spend some time away from life's pressures. While it may take a little bit longer to receive your coins, the delay should be forgotten as you enjoy your coins over the years to follow.
