Gee, CG, Do you plan on taking pictures to show us when you are done? Oh, and I gave this advice before: Put a wad of cash on the top of the display case and say, "Is there something wrong with my money?" Then take it back and say, "Sorry, you lost a chance to do business with me." Walk out and do not go back. The nerve of some people...do not put up with it nor let it bother you.

CG: Have you considered if you keep telling people where that place is, some will go there and beat you to all the rest of some great coins? I still think you should consider making him an offer for all his Mercury dimes.

52Raymo. That stapler I could see as being very useful LoL, You did give me a great idea for my world coins, I may have to start that in the near future. Matthew - That is a good idea, maybe atleast get the point across to those difficult "sellers". I Havent been back to that place since. Just Carl - Luckily, the coin guy at the pawn shop lets me go through the stuff before he puts it in the box or in the case, atleast for the dimes and LWC. If I could afford to get all the dimes, I would in a heartbeat, not like I'd be losing any money overall on it

Not lucky, CG, good business practice. Put yourself in the dealer's shoes: "This guy comes in regularly at the same time. He is on his lunch hour. Since he appears to be a steady buyer, I'll save him time and just show him what came in recently since his last visit." What is lucky is that this pawn shop dealer realizes that catering to a regular buyer makes good business sense. Not all dealers do that. Establishing a good rapport with a dealer is good for us as buyers. I had first dibs twice on coins just bought by a dealer whom I like. The last time a had chance to go through a box of several coins that he had just purchased but had not yet has a chance to price. The one coin which I could not leave behind is this 1857 Half Dollar. The story and pictures can be found at: https://goccf.com/t/122728Continued good hunting for them dimes!

Yeah Its a great thing that he does that for me. I'm not making huge purchases, but basically buying every day. He has had his issues in the past(Cleaning coins like LWC) but has learned that its a horrible thing to do. That 1857 Half is GREAT!

bout time we get to see some pics. Sounds like you have a great pawn shop. My world coins were begging for a new home other than the floor of my computer room. Once I got a stack of 2x2's I realized how much regular staples can affect things.

where do you end up getting most of your world coins? I pick mine up from random Grab Boxes when I find them. Have came across some nice Older stuff. May not be valuable most the time, but its fun

I pick them up on ebay. I got a wild idea to get a birth year coin from just about every country I could think of. Some of the countries no longer exist. Some absolutely beautiful coins. Doesn't cost much either.
