Could be both. I Googled 1952 Maroc and it shows my 50 franc. If I Google 1371 Maroc it shows 1951 as a translation.

Ahh that explains it. I've noticed a good amount of 2nd hand places will have random world coins. And usually for dirt cheap. Gotten some nice ones this last week. a REALLY worn 1870-1893(i think) Canadian Silver Dime, 1921 Mexican 1 centavo, some Chinese coins from the 1700's, and even 2 War Nickels

I like War Nickels if I can get them at or under melt. I was just showin the neighbor kids a 1967 50 centavo. Not worth much but it has a beautiful design and in excellent shape and tone.

I've had so many war nickles, and only ever seem to get offered around 75 cents down here(atleast at the coin shop)
But I'm working on Jeffersons and am picky on the war nickles I add to that, since they are the "harder" ones to get.

It may be small, CG, but buying a little each day translates into dealer talk as:
"If I buy for X and this guy buys for Y I am ahead."
Look, fact of life: the dealer makes a profit and you get get dimes at a good price.
Win Win both ways!
I expect that you knew this all along.

Looks like you're getting some great deals CG! Wish my dealer wasnt paranoid about bringing 90% out from the back room.

I go in and say, "Can I look at some 90% dimes"?
Dealer "Yeah"
(dealer in back taking handfuls of dimes and putting them into a coffee can, brings coffee can back and lays them out)
Me: Is this all?
Dealer: yeah.

I clearly saw him take handfuls of coins from a big container in the back and put them into a coffee can.
doesn't he know, if he brought more out, Id buy more!

Again I say,
Put a pile of dollars on the counter and say,
" Is my money good here? "
Shame the dealer and reap the rewards.
Or walk away, never to return.
{Gee, why do dealers treat us so badly?}
NONE of us need to put up with this XXXX!

The dealers make money from us being collectors. I think thats failed to register with some.

On another note tho, I am up to 46 Different Mercury dimes for my set. needing the "big" 3...21, 21d, and the very elusive 16d
