Found two Ikes in the wild today - 1971 and 1974. Couldn't resist buying them.

I don't do errors on the Ike's. none of them were in good shape and I was on vacation and didn't feel like bringing home

I had just found a couple of silver halves, a 50d nickel in good shape and a couple of War Nickels. The run of the mill Ike's weren't exciting enough

Got another four Ikes from the wild on Friday (along with $73.50 in loose halves which yielded nothing). The teller was so pleased she happily took my name and number so she could let me know if she gets any more.

Got a 72 Ike and a gold James Monroe presidential Friday. First coins they've ever had that they sold me since I've been asking.

I pick them up when I can. The 1972s I save for a particular purpose, & the other ones I spend. People are really startled by that!

So on Tuesday I found one Ike (same batch I pulled a 52-D Franklin from). Then Wednesday I got 22 in one go. Biggest haul of Ikes I've had yet, beating my previous big haul (4 Ikes).

I wonder if the bank is "required" to send in unusual coinage that customers bring in such as Ike's or any bigger dollars that the bank has no idea what it actually is....it would be nice to hear from someone who worked at a bank or knows a good teller...I know most tellers will give them away because they don't want them in there box all the time because most people don't want them...any ideas?

Picked up $25 of Ike's today. Most were in decent condition with good reeds.

Think I found my first 1972 type ll.
