I picked up about 55 Ikes the other day.

1, 1973 and nothing else of note.

Someone had ground the edge off a bicentennial and exposed the copper. I guess they wanted to know if it was really a "silver" dollar

For the last couple of years none of the banks that I do business with will order any Eisenhower dollars from either their coin center, Brinks or Loomis, nor the FRB up in Jacksonville. So I'm reduced to making the rounds and picking up them at face on a catch as catch can basis.

I have one coin shop that sell them for $.20 over face, but they have them in limited quantities. That being said, I've been accumulating them for over 10 years and have a few that I'm not getting rid of for any reason.

I'm also doing the same with the Susan B's. I kind of think that given time you won't be able to get good coins through the banks, so now is the time to hoard. I usually pick up between 20 and 40 coins every two weeks and have been able to put together a couple small bags of them.

Can't get to interested in the Presidential dollars yet at all. Even though now should be the best time to put together a decent set though general circulation.

I see the bag. Now, let me see what is inside.

I was naughty. Did not take pictures while they were just out of the bag. Need to sell dump or spend. I put them in rolls to be ready for what comes of them. Forgive me.

The coins I am most proud of in this bag was seven 1973 (P) and (D). All were mild to richly toned. IMHO the worst condition of these 7 coins was as least MS. The best condition of one coins was MS64. IMHO

Then there was a few PEGGERS of interest. Still studying those coins. Some peggers are obvious. Others are not so clear to classified. I have been doing quite a lot of time on different sites trying to educate my self on peglegs. If I ever want to sell them I want good ground to be on, before I offer them for sale. For now, they are just in my collection.

As you know I have been getting a bag or two, as time goes by. My Pegleg collection is getting too deep to keep collection. Must try to start selling some.

Besides the large number of 1973 coins, this particular bag had way over 250 Bicentennial. Maybe 300.

One other point of interest. There was a "New York RUNNING TON" of very high MS+++ in the dates of 1971 & 1972. Maybe up to 250 coins.

As far as I understand the situation, Ikes only come in $1,000 bags. "FROM THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK."

I have seen $500 bags out there. I strongly would advice all CCF members to AVOID THEM. IMHO these bags may be put together by a person, who may wish to sell the SEALED UNSEARCHED BAG as if they were from the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK.

Thousands of Ikes are out there. AND so are NEW 500 COIN BANK BAGS. They cost about a dollar each.

NUFF SAID?

Please keep in mind I am a 200+ day NEWBIE

Well, okay. Next time, pictures, please.

You have my word on it. If and when I am fortunate enough to get a fresh bag I will take pictures of the stacked coins.

Ahhhhh... How do you want them stacked?

One hundred stacks of 10?

Fifty stacks of 20?
