So next time, go with a few pennies - shove them in and then check the reject slot and take any score you can

I recently read a story about how a YouTuber found a 1918/17-D Buffalo nickel in a box of nickels. Almost a $1,000 coin.

At Sainsbury's in Folkestone yesterday I made my first CoinStar find for ages, but it wasn't very exciting - a 2012 10 pence piece:

NumisRob, finding any coins during a drought is always nice. Well, not zincolns.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Here's that video I was talking about. It got graded F12 by NGC, which puts it well over $2,000.

And he found it for a nickel. Unbelievable. What's crazy is if, even if it had been a regular 1918-D nickel, in that grade it's still a $50 coin at the very least.

Excellent!

Probably a Zincoln. I see some breaks in the plating.

Anyway, still a fun find! Post it here: https://goccf.com/t/318722
