Jm let me ask you this, are you more interested in what is there or just enjoy having the giant pile of silver?

Bullion ASEs would be a great way to add to the pile for a much cheaper price if the silver is the main draw for you

For accurate coin values, subscribe to http://www.greysheet.com . Except in rare cases, you will seldom be able to sell your coins for more than those values. Why pay more ?

For me its not just about the silver, but as I'm sure we all know, if silver hits 50-100 an ounce, I would assume that would drive the price of morgans up? So I am still attracted to the Morgans, I just wanted to buy them in a MS 60 or better. I have been blessed to have so much insite from you folks on here, thanks alot for that other option as a price guide. I am not really investing into anything, so I spend 100-250, maybe a bit more on coins. Silver wise I do own 4 ASE's, and own a few bars and a two ounce bullion coin.

My pride comes from my older morgans, which I have about 28 of them, and now I have the three Morgans that are graded. Come next friday is payday and I'm shooting for a Carson City, just haven't decided on which year or mint state I want to buy. Any suggestions..

Definitely understand that. I do the same thing my self, some numismatic coins some bullion.

Definitely keep with the Morgan since you like them, for your price range and desired grade your best best will be a 78,82,83 or 84 cc

Thanks baseball21. I try to get a feel of what everyone else is doing in the world, to see if I'm not the loner out here. I was thinking 1883 or 1884 around MS-63. It all depends on the wife, if I shoot for a MS-65. Some one said earlier on this post that they were going for $500.00 at one time. Man what will it go for if silver hits $100.00 an ounce.. we never know :) thanks for advice

83 or 84 is the best bet if your shooting for the 65. Or just go all out sell the house and get an 89 lol.

Shop around though sometimes you get lucky. Try putting in misspellings on ebay too sometimes you can find them listed horribly that no one sees and get virtually no bids

Great Idea on the misspellings thing on ebay. I have my eyes on a 1883 MS-65 on ebay with a buy now price of $468.95. Thats almost double what I normally spend, but I really want it!!

Yeah on sale the house :) Man I tell ya, I bought a brand new 2011 tahoe for the wife and my kid last year, because I got tired of having to take 2 vehicles when the in-laws wanted to go out to eat. I drive an 03 Silverado paid for. I swear if it wasn't for car payments, I would be alot more coin richer!

Plus I don't think I will be buying any coins in Nov/Dec. due to playing Santa Clause, so maybe this can be my last coin buy for the year :)

Thats not a bad BIN price at all. See just tell her the 65 is like your Tahoe lol.

Theres a lot of great ways to try and sell it with that info and I like to think Santa always rewarded himself for a job well done

HAHA she is easily convienced. I went to the mail box last night around 4:30ish b/c I saw where my ebay tracking number said it had arrived. So I put my shoes on and my wife is like.. where you going? She didn't know I had bought another coin. So I go get the mail, and she takes a look at it and its an 1885O. She asked me what was so special about it, and I told here that I was born in 1985, and I thought it would be cool to own a coin 100 years before my birth.

What does she do? She says.. I want one for 1886, so I end up going back on ebay last night til around 10pm, and I finally win one on auction for her. Hope to get it in mail by friday. So I am sure if I put together some sort of sales pitch she will come right along for the ride. :)

Yeah no kidding on tahoe payments, I could buy a carson city every month and then some if it wasnt for those jokers!!

Lol there you go. Just start finding ways like that to tie into something for you or her and before you know it youll have a complete set.

If you get creative enough you could find something for every year

I do the same thing checking the mail all the time when I'm expecting a coin. The worst is when you go out and its not there.

Thanks for the insight, Bryan. I also agree with Fenton; we don't seem to discuss the grey sheet enough. Learned a good deal from this thread, thanks. And thanks to jm20 for the complement.

Amen on that one!! Thats what I try to do, find something every year, or something that during that period of time that I can relate to.

I agree!! It's always a slower walk back to the house when that coin you been waiting on wasn't in the mail box, but for me its a full sprint back when I got it in my hand.

Like a kid at christmas!!

Thanks Drsandman2. I just enjoy chatting with folks who like the same things that I do. I remember going into the coin store that I bought over 95% of my coins from and that guy was always pulling out his dealersheet, which I see now was the grey sheet.

basebal21 and I have had a great conversation. Great guy. I really enjoy this website. I am on it all the time, but come next month I start my job as a Army Drill Sergeant, so my time on here will be decreased dramatically. Long days and hours with that job. So I am trying to enjoy the most of it now as I can.

You folks are great! Thanks for sharing your stories, and wisdom with newbies like myself.

If I could sprint it would be the same for me. I end up opening it up during the walk back being impatient.

Theres no lonelier/longer walk than when it didnt arrive.

The absolute worst is when you see the tracking information and it gets to your post office on saturday but you know it wasnt early enough to go out that day and have to wait until monday. I actually no longer enjoy sundays because of that lol
