Sorry for the delayed response, but yes, I got my capsules from the air-tite website that freightrain referenced. They pretty much close completely and look great. The coin does not slide around or anything. I went with white because I was once told that the black foam rings can cause toning problems or something. I do not know if that is true or not, but since hearing that years ago I just have always picked up white rings when I buy air-tites.
Anyways, the X38 holders seem to be the best fit available for this coin.

Got my capsule today. Agree that it's a great fit! The only problem is taking the coin back out of the capsule. Very tight, ouch! The Lighthouse 38 mm ring capsules are easier to open. Just curious about this ebay auction featuring a gilded 24-K gold for this coin. Apparently, there were 1000 issued? Does anyone know anything about the "private" Mint which produces these? Also, if 1000 were issued (with COA), does this mean there are only 7500 left in silver only? BTW, nice simple capsule (without ring). I wonder if this "private" Mint issues just the capsule and display box for this coin? Oh yeah, the auction is ending tomorrow. The # is 281043979040. Coin displays nicely in this format BTW! Thanks...

For the people who still thinks the mintage is 8,500 coins, I just got this from a RCM rep. Thank you for contacting the Royal Canadian Mint. With regards to your inquiry, please note that the 1.5 oz. Polar Bear Silver Coin will be produced according to the demand. There is currently no set mintage for this coin. For any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us at http://www.mint.ca/contactus or by phone at 1-800- 267-1871 (Canada), 1-800-268-6468 (US) or at 613-954-2626 (International). Our hours of operation are 8 am to 8 pm (Monday to Friday) and 9 am to 5 pm (Saturday) EST. Your interest in our products is appreciated.

thanks agrenier. for some logic in the mintage figures. A Mark, one of the largest bullion wholesaler in the us would not be involved in this coin with a 8500 mintage, they can wholesale the 8500 coins at 150.00 each and still lose money.

Talisman Coins now selling the 1.5oz polar bear coin for $79.95 or a tube of 15 for $1124.25. No mintage number given. The selling points seem interesting.

Moderncoinmart now sells them too, cheaper via ebay than their website if anyone is interested. All in all I don't think this coin will be worth more than spot one day, esp. since the mintage is unlimited. I'd recommend the 5oz ATB's as bullion investments - limited mintage (20k for 2012 designs) and lower premium than even ASE's or the Maple Leaf. No-brainer, really...

Promissed to write about capsules for this coin, that I tried: 1. 38 / 40 Airtite capsules(not branded, but very good, found on ebay) - doesn't fit at all - can't be closed. 2. 38 / 39 mm by Lighhouse - doesn't fit properly, since do not completely, and the "closure gap" is near 3mm. 3. X38 Airtite from "Air-tites.com" - perfect closure, thanks for advise to PlatinumDuck and Freightrain - the best display, when the insert is white and not black. The single problem - the coin in this capsule doesn't match to the cell in my display box - the capsule to big. 4. Capsule from "Rain Drop" series by RCM - very good match - although the closure gap in 1.5mm, the closure is good, since the capsule is very thick. Displayed perfectly. Disadvantage - managed to get from RCM one additional capsule (I didn't remove any of my Rain Drop coins from their capsules). In bottom line - options #3 and #4 - are the best. If it possible to get something like X38, but not so big - will be the best option.

Just to add my voice to SILVEROID's - the X38 from Air-Tites is an excellent fit but unfortunately is too large for my Lighthouse 38mm display drawers - provides excellent storage for the coin otherwise.

Agree with you, Alan
It even doesn't fit my Lighthouse display box with the cells for ~42mm coins.
So, if something thick like X38 exist, but without foam ring - it will be excellent.

If anyone is looking to buy these cheaper, silvergoldbull.com is offering them for $3 off per coin for a short while. At present, with silver at $22.33, this polar bear is selling at about $46. Also, an airtite capsule is offered for $2.15 apiece. Not sure if that's a ring capsule or not or how well it fits the coin... Still a hefty premium, but a better deal than the grizzly bullion coin (1 1/2 ounces compared to 1 ounce of silver).

The day before these went $3 off at SGB, I bought 4 at CA who had them for $52.xx. With 5% PayPal cash back it brought each coin to around $50. Added to credit card bonuses and cheap shipping I didn't think I made out too badly.

Just did a 'basket check' including $21 Fedex shipping for a 'tube' of 15, it comes out to $31.30/oz. It wasn't too long ago that $32 per ounce would have sparked a buying frenzy!
