Between school and other irons, I'll have to make it a point to pick and artfully wrap my recipients gift by the 14th

Do I reveal to the receiver who I am in the packet I'm sending or is the whole thing still kept a secret?

IMHO keep as close to a secret as possible within mailing restrictions. Sending in the same country, you might get away with no sender's name on the package. Sending out of country, might require a last name at a minimum.

So, Fuzzy, by your imagining, no one is supposed to know, eh?

Might be a shade tough for Nina then.

I have to say that I have kept every envelope from every trader I've had from here, so certain members will have difficulty keeping their identities secret come time I get what they've sent.

Hopefully, my giftee won't know unless they are able to cross-reference the return address that has no name.

EDIT - I have kept the envelopes too, but I won't be looking at them. Its a Secret Santa Exchange, so I am keeping with the spirit of it being a "Secret Santa" Exchange

Man this is a real problem. I know it says value $5-$10 are most people abiding by this? I love this Idea. I'm gonna put my address on it just incase something happens and they ship it back to me.

Cheers Guys Merry Christmas

a return address is a good idea, and in the past I have shipped with tracking to be sure it gets there on time. I consider the $5-10 value a recommendation.

Fuzzy317,

Does it matter if the recipient knows who the giver is? I wrote it on the envelopes. It's only a secret until they get the gift.

Santa (aka rggoodie) has final say for that, but I just went with the title "Secret Santa - Holiday Exchange 2012". I know actual names of a few members, but unless I really search I probably won't know who my Secret Santa is, and for me that's part of the mystery and excitement.

I'd like to know who to thank, or worse, who not to get a gift from on the next go around.

It does not matter if your receiver knows who you are. In fact we have had quite a few friendships develop over the years due to contacts made through this exchange.

It is all in the Spirit of giving and having fun.
