Apologies for the pics it was late and this was the last interesting find of the evening. I'm looking at the (7) in the date 1937. The punched date seems to be enveloped by a larger 7. I know there is an explanation for this but I've searched around but could not find it, I don't think it is a RPMM.

You can't have an RPM without a mintmark. The 7 could be a combination of several things but it's not a 7/7.

Apologies, as I mentioned it was late and I miss spoke, you are correct. In the interest of teaching / learning can you please tell me what you think may have happened.

I think it's just dirt disguising itself as a 7. Don't think it was done a strike time.
