My first order with Gatewest was a success. Placed my order online on Jan.2 and received it yesterday Jan.7. Take out the weekend and that was only 3 days for delivery. Very happy, only problem is I nnow have another place to spend my money.

It's CA's turn to dump their overstocked inventory. They are doing a "loyalty" sales now, if you search for "loyalty" using their product search you will see what's on sale. Examples are:
- Two Loon for sales at release price (109.95)
- Some Go7 on sales
- 5oz Stampede for 460$
- the Perth Mint Emu for 106$
- 2012 silver proof set for 198$

some good deals there. Too bad I don't see anything I like other than the 2012 silver proof. But I've already got 2 of those at a lower price from GW.

Some decent savings (few dollars here and there) but I think CC&C had better prices on most of their sale items and based on how long it's taking to ship my order, they must have moved a lot of product.

But why is C/A hiding this sale? No e-mail notification, nothing on their home page, no special page for the 'sale'? Strange way to show appreciation for customer's loyalty.

Edit to add: the 2006 Square beaver is a very good price at $115.

Agree. I've check my emails and didn't see anything related to this sale. I guess I don't spend enough money there?

Maybe they will send out email tomorrow? I found the sale accidentally during my daily deal searching, thinking those who missed the 2012 proof set sales at GW might want this one...

Could be.

"With over 20 years in the business, we want to thank our customers by offering this exclusive sale. "

Doesn't appear to be exclusive either. Perhaps, these items made it to their website prematurely and tomorrow it will be limited to their existing customers? Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Thanks Shopaholic! I missed the 2012 proof set from Gatewest. I probably will get it as it is only $6.50 more than Gatewest.

Interesting that the two loon coin and Bateman Moose coin is going for list price when everyone was going crazy over the hype. Some people bought 10 or more of them.

It is a good price but I am so use to buying 99% silver that I forgot there's HST on top of this

http://colonialacres.com/products.p...47272&ref=49

reg price of beaver is 99.95 and arctic fox is 84.95 = 184.9
a good deal if you like both coins

Through patience and research you will often find surprising deals. The only problem I find with mail order is that quality can vary widely. And although returning is a possibility it is a deal breaker given the cost and effort involved.

I have learnt it the hard way that for a must have long-term collectibles an unseen purchase is often not as a great deal as it sounds.

Although I understand that for folks who are not close to some of these shops there is not other choice.

However what I find very useful is the price structuring at these dealers. With the information I can often get a good feel about how much a coin is really worth and therefore it helps is selling and purchasing decisions.

That indeed is a nice fine.

I've recently found some cheap deal on ebay as well. The 1812 Fine proof silver set is not doing too well. Not sure why as it is the last set with the Penny. I actually like it quite a bit with the silver penny
