It sucks having to wait. I thought of canceling as well but I waited it out. The coins can easily be resold for more than issue price. Even if sold to a dealer.

Are you looking for one?

I believe the 1914 HS $5 is around $850 on ebay? As for the 1913 HS $5, they are hovering around $700....

Too late? I'm sure someone will buy mine. It looks very good. I'm just thinking about it. Haven't listed it anywhere.

J&M Coins in Vancouver is asking $1000 for a $5 1914 gold coin.

For a hand select.

Mine is a hand select. Is that what they are selling?

Supply and demand. Too many people have more money than brains. Even at $1500, someone would buy it. All the dealers that sell coins for insane prices do so because they CAN. If no one bought them at those prices, they wouldn't try to sell them for those prices.

I am not interested in graded coins. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen any $5 hand selects from dealers or coin shops that are as the mint released them.

I saw a 1913 $5 hand select still in the hologram sealed capsule with clamshell at my coin shop. The coin looked fantastic. Very little if any scratches on the reverse (to the naked eye), with a few on the obverse seen through a magnifier. It was a nice looking coin
