I got them a few months back, I am simply shocked and disappointed how some people still didn't get them =/

Re: "Seller said this is a "Bank of Canada Hoard coin", but ICCS does not comment this. Weird~" Yesterday, the seller added the following rectification:
"An eBayer contacted me to advise me that this is not a "hoard" coin. It is a "1914 Canada Gold $10 King George V - Bank of Canada coin" rather than a "1914 Canada Gold $10 King George V - Bank of Canada Hoard coin". I guess it makes it RARER to have it in this good condition as it has been in the public hands for 99 years instead of locked away in a vault!?!?!?! I used "sell an item like this" which is why it was listed that way. If this affected your decision to bid and you would like to cancel your bid, please do so, or if I need to cancel your bid for you, please advise me. Thanks!"

Thanks legouge, I'm glad to see that the ebay seller did the right thing and corrected his listing (sort of). However, I don't buy his implication that the non-hoard coin would be better for one's collection because it is "RARER to have it in this good condition as it has been in the public hands for 99 years instead of locked away in a vault!?!?!?!...". That's like saying a virtually mint a Canadian 1948 silver dollar which was locked in a drawer for the last 65 years would be more desirable than one which was carried in somebody's pocket for all this time, rendering it blackened, and worn down.

Marketing at it's best (or worst).....like the volume control that goes up to "11"
I feel his pain though....the hoard coins have made anything less than a MS60-62 a bullion coin now.

It looks like the Mint is finally clearly the backlog of 1912-1914 gold coins. In addtion to the 1914 $5 gold coins, I got a shipping notice for a 1913 $5 coin and a 1914 $10 coin which has been stuck in processing for awhile.
I asked my rep last week the reason for the delay and he told me it was a problem with the packaging. The Mint must have solved that problem.

Quote: I asked my rep last week the reason for the delay and he told me it was a problem with the packaging. The Mint must have solved that problem. Mine told me that a month ago. The month before that it was something else and three months ago it was going to be shipped in 10-15 days. PS They haven't shipped all of the 1914 $5 yet. Is mine the absolute last name on the darn list?

CC-Ottawa, stop whining you sound like a Habs fan. If the Habs keep the series going tonight, I promise you will get your shipping confirmation...

That low. Maybe I need to call #31 and get him to deliver it - he has nothing else to do tonight. Maybe #61 can help.

CC-Ottawa, why don't you pay them a visit and see what's going on. Maybe you can pick up you $5 right there.:)
I will call them one more time tomorrow. CC almost expired

Lol. Maybe they'd let me pick up all the other coins I'm waiting on too? I'd need to rent a truck. But despite the Sens crushing the Habs tonight to win the series, the Mint did ship my Au coin early this evening.

CC-OTTAWA, Congrats on the Sens victory!
I told you the Mint is finally shipping all the gold coins out. Whatever the reason for the delay has been solved.
Although one guy on the RFD show his 1914 $ 5 coin with lots of scratches. I wonder if the mint really had to buy some back from dealers. Either that or they had to go back to the pile of coins slated for melting.

@ CC-Ottawa: Congrats to the Senators. Obviously, I was hoping for a closer series. At least a good rivalry has been established. So next year the Habs will abolish the Senate! I'm glad your gold coin is on the way and I hope you get one in great shape.

Thanks Moose. Looking forward to taking on the Pens next. Last two Canadian based teams standing - Sens and Leafs. Who would have predicted that? And soon there will only be one.
I too think they went back to the vault and grabbed a few 1914s off the pile to fill these last orders. Will see later today or more likely Monday.

I believe this is the coin that you were referring to MoneyPenny. The photo belongs to the collector that received his coin on the RFD forum who just recently got their coin from the Mint. The coin would at best grade MS60, but could receive AU58.
