The thread was moved to the proper area; that has nothing to do with "respect," except perhaps respecting the fact that we keep the forum tidy and easy to navigate by placing or moving threads into the proper forum area when needed - it does not matter if they contain one or a thousand pages. I found this attempt to chastise one of our most respectful moderators simply because someone didn't find a thread in the last place they clicked on it quite humorous.

@royal silver...thanks for the info but those 1913/14 PHS coins were overpriced and over graded to begin with....the market is flooded with them.....even in MS 64 you can buy them for less on ebay..im selling an MS 64 NGC 1914 right now and its at 1225USD......they are beautiful gold coins tho and well worth the investment for the long term......

Assuming you were to by a 1912-14 - 10 Dollar gold coin on ebay and there were two coins of the same year available. Coin #1 is a PCGS graded BOC release in MS64, and Coin #2 is a ICCS graded MS63. Which coin would you buy if both coins were the same price?

I personally don't have anything against ICCS it's just that I can't sell them on ebay as certified. So for me, PCGS is a better choice.

actually ebay may have changed their policy towards ICCS ...Lately I've been selling ICCS certified coins as such with no problems from ebay...but I remember a time when they wouldnt let me sell them ..Maybe they are just uneven in their enforcement...which would be typical of ebay..you never know what they will hit you with next..As far as the question between PCGS and ICCS I would agree with canadian_coins on that one....I think ICCS NGC and PCGS all have high unpredictable standards but ICCS is a heck of lot more inexpensive.....i think they only charge around 11.00CAD these days but I didnt consider them for my gold BOC coins because once the foil sealed containers have been breached theres no going back if you arent happy unless you get them cross graded as such....

Nope, you Canadians are allowed to break all the rules us Americans must follow but your listings show right next to ours on ebay.com if you ship to the US. Totally unfair. If your listings show on ebay.com you should have to follow ebay'com's rules.

@bobby Yes it's unfair there are different "rules" for CAN and US, but it's also unfair that ebay won't accept a clearly very well used and reputable grading company. I wish ICCS took a more 21 century approach, that would help things out a lot!

I sympathize with you and think its unfair that US sellers should be deprived of the opportunity to sell ICCS graded coins...It might have something to do with your protectionist numismatic economy which favors your own grading companies. But the consolation is that your PCGS and NGC services in particular are very reliable and easily accessible online wheras ICCS is like a dinosaur in an apartment building .......it just doesn't quite fit in......but ICCS high grade Canada coins are highly regarded by the numismatic community so I dont get ebay policy regarding them.......so I can only restate that I sympathize with ya...personally I'm leaning more towards NGC these days

Quote: You Canadians are allowed to break all the rules I will never understand why ebay still refuses to acknowledge ICCS as a reputable CANADIAN coin grading authority. If I were Canadian I would certainly break the rule. It's a stupid rule. Stupid rules are meant to be broken.

We just went through the RCM and Bank of Canada Annual reports for 2012 and 2013 and there were no mention whatsoever of the Gold Hoard coins; why the secrecy?

Does anyone have an idea of how much a 1913 and a 1914 hand selected $5 gold would be worth today? The are both as received by the RCM.

@Redzapsid: I just sold my HS $5 from 1914 for C$1350. You can check out the ebay completed listings for an idea on the 1913 coins.
