Wow! Those are very nice. I'm still waiting for my 1914 $5. I hope it's as good as yours or better coin chick. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Nice looking gold!! The 1914 $5 obverse doesn't seem to show the die crack that I have seen in mine and some others pictured on here. Have a good safe trip to Vegas. Just saw on the news a bit ago that three people were killed in a hail of bullets from a Range Rover on the strip. Welcome to the good ole USA!

Canuck1us I hope I have a safe trip. Sounds like I'll have to take my flak jacket with me!! I've heard lots about the violence in and around that area. Just not normally on the strip..

I've decided once I get my 1912, 1913, and 1914 hand select $5 pieces, I'm going to keep them in the original capsules and cases. I think they look great the way they are. I'm not sure what the general conscientious is.

I called the mint today and they took an order for one each of the 1912 and 1913 $5 HS. Not sure if there are many left due to cancellations, or whatever reason, but anyone who thought they missed out might have another chance. I'm not 100% convinced I'll get them but it sounds promising.

I just called the mint about my original order of Jan 14 and they say that they will definitely be shipped out by the end of feb. Apparantly they can only ship 200 orders per day and they have thousands of orders...yikes!...As far as getting any of the sold out 5.00 coins the best you can hope for is to be put on a very long waiting list and see what happens so any talk of actually getting these sold out coins is mere wishful thinking and having special reps etc is probably of the same wishful thinking category. Although if you have indeed captured the heart of one of the mints reps then you are an exceedingly lucky person even if you are deluded..They all seem like very nice and friendly gals to me...and would probably tell you anything to get onto the next frustrated customer calling to find out where in the /^%$@@## are my coins?...over and out

HOLY CRAP!I just got a call back from the mint rep from heaven who has guaranteed me that they bought back a bunch of 5.00 gold coins and they will send me 3 of each of the years 1912/13/14 hand select for sure! so disregard MY previous post and if there is a god in heaven or at least the RCM I WILL DEFINITLEY BE THANKING YOU!.....This seems too good to be true...dealers getting cold feet and cancelling out but my Mint rep actually called me back....and virtually promised me the coins so whaddya think about that ..? Am I another deluded hopeful? the favorite prey of the sirens of the RCM?...stay tuned....
