one the letter l looks fatter and gives you the look of a boot.
1942 the 2 looks a little wide then normal
1989 looks like a double d...

The "LIBERTY" and 1942 are PMD,something hit them causing the "L" and "2" to be deformed.The 1989 D looks like Die Deterioration.

but the 1989 does look like a DD to me.

1989 isn't DDO. Looks like die wear and MD.

Don't think 89 is DDO. Machine Doubling on the mintmark.
