I have a friend that I trade dateless Buffaloes with. I send him tons of Philly mints and he sends me lesser quantities of mint marked nickels. Well, he ran out of mint marked nickels just as I acquired another 2000 Phillys. So he said, "Send them anyway. Trust me, you'll like what I send back to you." So what the heck...I did it. Here's what he sent.

What do you think....?

Whoa! Nice trade! That group of halves should sell for close to $400 retail, so you got the equivalent of $0.20 each for your nickels.

I'd say your buddy arranged a lovely Christmas present for you. Ho ho ho!

WOW! VERY, VERY nice halves. I like them all. Each looks like they have original skin as well. Very good trade on your part. Definitely may have traded $$ straight across, but I think you came out on this deal on the UP side.

Great trade. Ask him if he wants quantities of Liberty nickels with dates and LWC with dates. I'd do a trade like that in a heart beat.

Great trade!! Definitely a good friend! I love the two 1861's!! The '61 half is my next purchace... The half dollar and dollar are the last I need for my 1861 set! (Ill have to save a bit for the $...lol) But I'd definitly be happy with either of those! Jealous, Lol. Congrats, again a great trade!

When I traded for these (not knowing what I'd get) I figured I'd just sell 'em on ebay and see if I could pull in more than $280, which is what the 2000 nickels cost me. Now, however, I find that I do NOT want to part with them.

I believe we refer to this as coin collecting!
