First, if that 19S can't get a 65, nothing can. That coin is undergraded one level at least IMO.
And yeah, OK, this thread made every last one I own look like horse dung. *sigh*
Awesome coins dude!

To answer the question of restoring a date - I know of no process that will bring up a date once worn off the coin. Do NOT use Nic-a-Date - it doesn't work on silver [ so I have been told.]
Coins shown are 100% nicer than my collection when I got out of college and are 50% as nice as my last set. I remember collecting these coins from Roll Searches - and aquired most of the coins - the Ty. 2 were the hardest to locate as most of the dates had worn off. [ Reason for the Question of restoring dates in the last paragraph ].
The older you get, the more opportunities you'll have to acquire a better set of SLQ's. Don't give up hope - you'll be fine.

Is there anything that can restore dates on silver coins safely?

Quote: The older you get, the more opportunities you'll have to acquire a better set of SLQ's. You say that running under the presumption that with age will come the money to buy such coins. NOT the case. Unless of course I happen to hit the lottery. LOL

As far as I know, there is nothing on the market that will restore dates on silver coins. Sorry.
One would assume that with age opportunities arise either financially - luck { Lotto } - passage of time. A key would be to concentrate on one series at a time and don't spread yourself too thin. Again, no set is completed overnight - it takes time - money [ a foregone conclusion ] - and patience.
Tommorow, I'll post the last of the current collection - followed by some of the coins that were in my better collection.

I have heard talk of certain acids that could work. Has anyone experimented on junk SLQs?

I forgot to add this new 1928-S in PC 65 that I picked up at FUN: ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20-%20Professional%20Images/1928-SSLQPCGS65_zps77af9bab.jpg)

These are three of the four Standing Liberty quarters I presently own. The fourth one is a VF 1924 in 20th century type set mounted in a picture frame. I am working on two more 20th century type sets, both Capital Plastics holders, #490 and BVD-60, and need a Type I and Type II in the #490 plus one for the series in the BVD-60. I'll probably go with a late date for the type in the BVD-60 holder. In my 7070 album an AU-50 1917 Type I ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/uploaded/Gyrene7483/20120314_25c-1917-obv.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/uploaded/Gyrene7483/20120314_25c-1917-rev.jpg) In my Capital Plastics #408B 20th century type set holder a 1917-S MS-63FH and a full strike everywhere. She's a real beauty and a 1920 MS-63FH just as full a strike as it can get also. The obverse photo of the 1920 isn't the best, I'll have to take a new pic. ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/uploaded/Gyrene7483/20120422_25c-1917S-Type1-obv2.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/uploaded/Gyrene7483/20120422_25c-1917S-Type1-rev2.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/uploaded/Gyrene7483/20110329_slq-1920-obv.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/uploaded/Gyrene7483/20110329_slq-1920-rev.jpg) Ed ANA LM-3175

Some really great coins in this thread. For me,this coin design is right up there with the draped bust and walking liberty. I lean toward circulated. As age has not brought on the means of affording the keys in uncirculated especially the 1916. I bought my lastest addition as a Chirstmas present.Am currently in the hunt for the 23S.Which will then just leave me the 20D,27D,29D and of course the 16 having a completed set. regards coffeecup57

Thanks for sharing - I can tell you that the 23-S is a very tough coin to locate similar to your 1921. I received a pleasant surprise from another collector - he has taken it upon himself to make a virtual album for my set - and as a further gift - he also did my old set as well. I love raw coins in a Damsco - much more so than in a certified rendition. Here is a partial group - since these images were taken, I have found a few other coins. ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20Composite%20Sets/a7c53e2d.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20Composite%20Sets/7e04bfaf.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20Composite%20Sets/ba168e4a.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20Composite%20Sets/1241c7c3.jpg) Here are my old coins - sold this set in 2005: ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20Composite%20Sets/5aff0c7d.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20Composite%20Sets/4ff0c51a.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20Composite%20Sets/3ff66add.jpg) ![Anyone-Working-On-An-SLQ-Collection-[-1916-1930-]-?](http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/mfhayesatcomcastnet/SLQ%20Composite%20Sets/46df6311.jpg) I have most of the images that are missing from the composite album. I'll add them where necessary.

elbesaar the little icon to the left says it all ,especially for the 1916.I will have to settle for AG-G if there is a good partial date. I am not a big fan of toning on any coin, but the right kind and amount,I think help sets off detail sometimes.Your 1917 TI is such a case. regards coffeecup57
