Although the first coin appears to have nice toning, it looks to have a bit more wear on it.
The second one has a sharper Eagle on the reverse, more detail on the obverse.
Both are nice, but the second coin is more desirable to me.

Id go with the first one. The grade is lower but the second coin looks like it has been cleaned.

Colors look off on the first and second coin. Is this from the camera? Cleaning on both? Second one has nicer detail. What is the price on each or are these from an auction?

Not knowing whether either coin has been harshly cleaned and not knowing the cost of each makes the decision difficult... however, appearance-wise, the #2 coin is more eye appealing.

#2 appears the best, it has the least amount of wear visible in the photos.

This one is easy for me assuming that money is no object. I think the first one has been cleaned because for a low VF, it should have more of a dark gray to light black appearance. For a coin that I think would grade about an AU-53, blast white coin are often considered market acceptable especially if there is original mint luster which I can see around the lettering and stars. To me the second one is more appealing.

Honestly, I can't judge from those pics. They both look washed out. And neither one looks like a coin I would buy. I would say move on, there are better out there.

Both coins appear to be cleaned based on these photos.

Quote: The grade is lower but the second coin looks like it has been cleaned. I feel the opposite. The second coin has nothing clinging to the nooks and crannies, while the first most definitely does. Based on these images, I'd state conclusively that the first coin has been cleaned, while the jury is still out on the second. Now, here's another potential problem: There is only one 1890-CC variety known whose date is that far to the right, and the dropped C in the first coin's mint mark does not match that variety. It could be an artifact of the photography. Expect to see strong and plain doubling of the 90 in the date, down and left. It should survive the level of wear present, and if you don't see it, walk away from either.

Out of those 2 I'd choose the 2nd. Both may have been cleaned so I'd choose the higher grade.

Both coins were auctioned by the same seller. I've purchased the second one for a little under 100$, and was surprised to see the second one goes over it. Just wanted to see if any of you guys seeing anything I'm missing.
Anyways, these are the seller pics, and I should have the coin in my hand within a week or so.
Thanks everyone.

Easy choice coin #2 is a much higher grade ; EF-40 v VF-20 or so for the first. Also, I think the second coin is less likely to have been cleaned. First is a bit too white for apparent grade.
