Interesting talk so far.... I am just wondering what would happen if someone order/subscribe the sent, then cancel and return all the coins, just to get the free box. I don't think the RCM should take back those subscription coins (exchange is ok but no refund), but then they have a satisfaction guarantee...... seemed to be a loophole somewhere. The US Mint don't have similar program, otherwise it will be a big mess for them.... Btw, anyone have the coin in hand yet?

ah-hah, the fine print trick...I guess as long as you place a disclaimer somewhere, you can pretty much advertise anything. Thanks for pointing that out shopaholic :D

SA4H Of course if you cancel all the coins you couldn't keep the box. I don't think anyone ever thought that.

My thought is not of this particular series. Considering the box for the G7 worth a chunk of changes..... so in the case of a nice box, we can possibly see the full mintage of the first few coins sold out and then after the box is delivered, the number of each subsequent coins sold could be less (especially if the latter designs are not as attractive).... which would mean the final completed set of the series could be a lot less than the actual (full) mintage or the subscriptions total (based on the number of boxes sent out by the Mint).
Contrarian collecting (go again the mass, collect un popular series) may reap a great reward one day..... Just my Monday talk.... hahaha.

The mint told me it comes in a cardboard box and with some sort of bubble to keep it from moving and getting damaged.

Quote: The mint told me it comes in a cardboard box and with some sort of bubble to keep it from moving and getting damaged. It's not really a box. It's corrugated cardboard that folds into a covering for the coin. Came in a plastic bubble envelope. BTW, this is part of the 5 coin subscription order. If you buy just one coin, it comes in a clamshell. edit to add: Quote: NO BOX WITH IT? It finally hit me that you were asking if the wooden box came with the 1st coin. D'oh. No it didn't. So for anyone hoping to get one coin and the box (and then cancel), it looks like you might have to accept at least two coins to get the free box.

I saw the O Canada "The Beaver" at the PO today - very nice coin. Much more better then the previous 1oz Beaver. I expect this series will be a nice piece in the RCM NCLT collection. Thanks for sharing, CC-Ottawa Btw, O Canada series (both 1/2oz and 1oz) shares the same external box (single coins, not subscription), that IMO designed very well, the same way like RCM did it well for "Penny Farewell" products.

I like this one. Haven't received it yet...just got the 1/2 oz beaver today.
My 1 oz subscription, 3 dinos and the penny roll were all ordered on one order the first day they were available to MC members.
Maybe the penny roll portion of the order is holding up the rest?
I think from now on I will make each item a separate order.
