Didn't mean coin and bar demand. That fluctuates and has been dropping from all time highs set a few years ago. The U.S. Mint is only one mint. Right now bar and coin is most likely flying off the shelves, it is at my LCS. We have lots of silver, people have lots of money. A week ago you could still buy 500 oz. lots on ebay, today only 100 oz. lots are for sale. Generic rounds, 10 oz., and 100 oz. can be found for under $15/oz. and are plentiful. It appears that premiums on 90% are bumping back up again.

Not at my shop. We have a huge surplus of silver. No buyers. Lots of sellers. People want to sell before the price goes any lower. I guess the "farmer" mentality vs the "city folk" mentality? Oh and the refiner is only taking large orders, and even then at a few points ABOVE melt. Since we have to buy at Melt or a bit above we actually lose money if we melt the coins(which we don't). We taught our customers for so long to use spot as their guide that now we are stuck with it.

@Piffin yes, it appears that the mint has only "temporarily" sold out.

Well, I guess 14 and change is it for now. Tubes of generics are running around 300 and mint rounds can be found for less than 16 if your buying quantity. I've been perusing a website called longforecast and it seems prices on au/ag will be flat to decreasing going forward. Although I think we had a flurry of whale buyers at 14 come in, I would guess they loaded up at the bottom of the dip.

Speaking of Yup, has anybody heard from yup7676, the OP? He didn't even say goodbye and had so many insights on this topic.

Yup's probably in a more brain-stimulating work environment under an umbrella on the beach where he can more accurately execute his next move after calculating his recent exponential PM gains.

Hey CCF Family!

Well, things get pretty busy with work and time becomes pretty tight so I had to budget my time accordingly so I had to unfortunately pull back on posting here and even coin collecting took a break.

gold and silver, longer term continue to suck wind and need to put in a lot of work to get going into uptrends, they are caught in downtrends.

On a shorter time frame, hold has broken out higher while silver remains still trapped. Gold looks more promising. in the coming weeks, gold will give us clues if its trying to form a base and bottom.

Another point to bring up is that gold miners look spectacular this past week. A change in behavior has happened to gold miners, expressed by price. If you noticed, since the market has started to pull in, gold and gold miners would be also drop along with the market.

But now two things are happening. One, despite the dollar being strong, gold is catching a bid. No surprise there as correlations come and go. Secondly, this past week, for the first time, while markets sold off and there was almost no where to escape the selling, gold miners start to catch a bid.

On a shorter time frame, several gold miner charts are firming up and look beautiful. That is constructive price action and could be the start of a base. What would be good to see is a pull back in gold miners and then a resumption higher, given time, these miners will pull out of these downtrends and that is worth keeping an eye on.

I think its possible in the coming days based on price action, gold miners start to pull in after their nice run from the past week, which could be a buying opportunity
