1943 Jefferson Nickel No Mintmark PMD?

It is not in the best of shape and the missing mintmark is most likely wear, but I wanted to post some pics and see what you guys think. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

I cant remember what year Henning Nickles were made, but they all used the same reverse it seemed, and the R is the Key on the reverse. Does it have the same Ring as a silver one? djjacket New Member United States 27 Posts	Posted 02/26/2013 4:26 pm I see some mention about Henning nickels, but it was a 1944 I believe. I do not see any curls or rings in the R. I weighed it along with a 1943 P 1943 P - 4.85g 1943 "no P" - 4.76g It does appear it may have been taped in a book or something based on the yellowish in the mintmark area. pyrbob Rest in Peace United States 1943 Posts	Posted 02/26/2013 5:13 pm Henning claimed to have made 6 different reverse dies. Some had the hole in the R and some didn't. I agree the above nickel appears to be a War Nickel with a weak/worn mintmark. Report this Post to the Staff
