Hey guys, I have a 2000 Proof Libertad from Mexico that I'd like to sell, but I need some honest opinions on what the toning adds to the value.

These sell for $80-100 with out toning.

Your thoughts?

Millennium piece?

I have not seen this design on a 2000 (or any) Libertad, I do like to the close-up of the Angel though, kinda reminds me of the St Gaudens design.

I don't think that there would be any additional value for this type of dark tone (tarnish), if anything it may lower the value.

That is not a 2000 proof Libertad. It looks like a sterling mexico commemorative medal. I don't know if it is just the picture, but it doesn't look proof. These are actually fairly rare. I don't think the toning will affect the value if in fact they are worth $80 dollars. 1 oz sterling medal ?

I don't have a 2000 proof, but here is a 1999 proof, they look exactly the same

I haven't seen this design before but I really like it. I checked out the reverse on ebay just to see what the whole thing would look like. Very sharp. denco7 is correct, this is a medal, not a coin. The NGC slabs I saw didn't list it as a libertad, although some of the sellers incorrectly did. It's something I would pay $80-100 for even with the toning.

Hi ... no confuse , that coin is not the Mexican Silver Libertad by the Gov Mint, what you have there is a commemorative coin from 2000 to celebrate the New Millennium with the Mexican Libertad and Coat of arms .. I seen that coin in South American Auctions for $ 75 ... I don't think the toning add value to the coin but to the right buyer you can make it happen , some people love toning coins..
33.625 gr /0.925 silver = 31.1 gr silver + alloy - 40 mm - proof / mate ...
i hope this help little bit... good luck

BTW nice coin...

Great medal. I've always liked the winged victory design that is used on their bullion coins. Like others have stated, the toning doesn't really add any value.
