At an ice rink, I saw a vending machine with a bill acceptor that read "Accepts $1's and $5's." I thought, "What the heck, let's try a $2." I inserted the $2 bill into the acceptor and the machine's display changed to "$2.00." I then hit the coin return button and eight quarters were dispensed. It's cool that I found a regular vending machine that accepts twos after nearly five years of spending them.

$16,146 to go.

I spent a boatload of twos today. First, I spent two of them to help pay for gas in my car. Later on, I went to a go-kart track to pay for a race. The cashier couldn't take the twos because their cash register only had icons on the screen for every common denomination ($1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100). So, I traded 10 twos to a friend in exchange for his $20 so I could pay the fee to race. Later on, I used six twos to help pay for a restaurant bill, and my friend used five of the twos I gave him to pay for his bill. In total, I gave out 18 twos to use in circulation, or $36.

An update today:

I spent $10 in twos to help pay for groceries, gave $4 in twos to complement a $1 bill in exchange for a $5 bill at a grocery store when I was cashing in a bottle return slip, and I used $6 in twos to help pay for some pizzas & breadsticks. This is another $20 in twos.

Between yesterday and today, I spent $56 in twos

$16,084 to go.

Allright I'll join the thread after lurking the forums for so long. I've spent many many $2s since this thread started (largest purchase probably 200 or so notes in a single transaction) but I won't count anything that I can't distinctly recall or is dated.

Bought some lunch today with 4X $2's in the drive through and I remember hearing some muffled voices "....where do $2's go".

Also got a hot chocolate later in the day using 2 $2's

That's $16,058 to go!

Under the $16,000 mark, and now I will take it even lower. I spent $8 in twos at a grocery store to help pay for English muffins. Then, I spent $12 in twos at a video arcade to buy game credit. The cashier at the arcade remarked she had never seen twos before, so she was delighted.

This makes $20 total.

$15,974 to go.

I spent a single two to help pay for admission to an ice rink. Also, I exchanged a single two plus 11 cents to augment my change from a gas station to a $5 bill. In total, I spent $4 in twos.

I spent $18 in twos today-$14 at a video arcade (and the cashier recognized me as "The guy with the $2 bills"), and another $4 at an ice cream window (the cashier said he hadn't seen them in a while. I told him he can go to the bank to get some).
