I'm not big on the busts but it might be an O mint mark in the shield?

coinzip . . . my first thought was a clash but I can't figure out what part of the obv would have left that mark. What date is it? The only O mints are 1838 (mintage 20) and 1839. CBHs are known for clashes. Here's an example from one of my 1814s.  |

The same things which appeal about Busties are the things that drive one batty. I distinctly remember an Overton with a broken right corner of the shield - heck, I saw it recently doing an attribution - but I'm darned if I remember where, or what year.  |

Submitted for your approval, I suggest 1833 O-103. How'm I doin' so far, coinzip? A quick look at a few examples on the Heritage site suggests to me a faint series of letters trailing up to the left of the eagle's neck, between the neck and the wing; perhaps this is the clash that rendered the "o"-like feature between those horizontal stripes?

I have an 1827 Bust Half that shows a clash under Liberty's ear, and more on the reverse. This is the only one I own. Going to wait to hear if philadelphian is correct  |
