I am wondering if this coin could fetch 200$ in the near future. I am also wondering if they will be making more of these coins this year.

Oh don't worry. The RCM will make a series out of everything until the point where the only people buying are the people like me who need to finish the set

Noah, I think most would agree that this series is a no-brainer hit. There is no risk, the coin is the biggest standard size minted, and the design/theme is great.

They struck gold with this design. The idea of BIG is working. It might kill the $20 for $20 though. I expect the mintage to soar to 100,000 on the next release.

Don't count on mintage going up much if at all just because it sells out fast doesn't mean they will double it look at butterfly they could of doubled or tripled mintage but did not same as 20 for 20's

Like I said earlier, I was surprised this coin sold out so fast. They may increase the mintage a bit next time, but I think they will come out with at least 2-3 new coins per year intead.

I did a 'completed listings' on ebay. In presales, there were 5 completed, with only one indicated as "Sold" for $127. The remainder were "Buy it now" with prices ranging from $150 to $200 - but none of those had sold.

It's the anniversary of the Buffalo /Bison Nickel (in the US) and they are doing a reverse gold proof out next week... Good marketing on Canada's part if you ask me

Quote: Have any of these sold above $100? C/A sold out their pre sale at $119 each, they could have got $129 I bet. J/M are selling them for $110 but it says back ordered plus they want sale tax of 11% ? I believe. CC&C has them for 120 no tax in stock so they say. Albern or Gatewest Coin (Same company)? has them for 114.95 limit of 5 . in stock. I dont think they will last too long before they are sold out.

Hi allspice! Good eye spotting "The American Bison" on the box! Lithanial is correct. I looked it up (Googled "bison" in other words), and the animal's official name is the "American Bison". Sheesh, and I thought it is called the "Canadian Buffalo"... BTW, There's another type called the "European Bison", but ours are cuter.

Anyway, Canada is in America so a Canadian bison is an American bison.
