At 50k, the 100/100 have a slim chance to appreciate over time but not much. IMO, these coins are comparable to nickel dollars - worth FV but not much more. Of course, the contrast is the inherent Ag content which could help in the very long term.

You see some folks slowly giving up and ready to let them goes. Unlike the $20 for $20, the $100 for $100 does hold up lots of your funds. It is also harder to flip than $20 for $20 because now, you are asking folks to dish out more than $100 where as it is easier to ask someone to pay $25 for $20 coin.

$100 for $100 coins with a limit of probably three would make the total order $300. Not many could afford to spend that much money on those commomoratives.

It's not a flip for me, it was a no-lose deal. I got $600 FV in $100/$20 coins PLUS the 2012 Titanic and Calgary Stampede silver dollars, PLUS the titanic coin/stamp set for $600. No lose lottery for me too!

I have the titanic sold for $100, so now it comes down to how long I am willing to tie my money up to maintain the series in stock.

To be fair, at this time - browsing the completed listings by most recent "$100 Bison" - I selected the first 20. Of those 20, there were asking prices from $110 to $140. (shipping not included in this discussion) 9 of the coins did actually sell. Only 2 ($110 & $118)were sold at less than $120, The remainder of the sold coins were in the $130 range. So, for those nay-sayers, here is an average $20-$30 profit(or more) on $100 coins. (I Know ebay fees etc eat into that)

It will be interesting to look into this, in another month/6 months/ year from now.
