Quote: What is the difference between "theoretically hot" 1oz Silver Eagle and 1oz Bison? Only the mintage. Quality of the finish, serialization, presentation, and yes, significantly lower mintage.

Yes, I forget the finish. Correct note. Didn't see both coins, so can't say nothing about presentation - I though, it will be presented as regular RCM issue. Will not the Bison Stampede have the serialized COA?

I'm referring to presentation as in clamshell and outer sleeve versus just a capsule and a piece of cardboard (not talking about the coin design).
Very unlikely they will serialize the 100 for 100 but I suppose it is possible. I assume it will follow the 20 for 20 with no numbered COA.

It seems to be correct, what do you say.
But for example, "$20 Year of the Snake", 1/4oz with specimen finish and the specs similar to the $20for$20 series with Mintage of 125.000 falls out from this pattern. North American version came with oversized clamshell in the external sleeve, with serialized COA. Well, the case is different, because it was minted for Asian market by request of Singapore(?)
May be here we also see some exception?

True, but IT IS STILL NOT SOLD OUT. What does that tell you? And, the YoS has a significantly expanded market presence: http://www.sgcoins.com/v-1650-1.htmlThe $20 for $20 are only sold by the mint to Canada and US. Do foreign dealers get them?

Anjohl: "though it's a crime that the public still can't order bullion from our publicly funded mint."
I disagree. Think about the amount of bulk weight and security that this commodity needs in order to be distributed. You don't distribute these things one by one - that's a losing business. You take orders and distribute them to dealers; it's the best way for security and overall production. You don't run a factory to produce shirts to sell to Joe Schmo. You run it to sell 50,000 shirts to Mr. Trucker and he can deal with the retailers that service Joe Schmo and 49,999 others.
Does that make sense now? I see what you're trying to say with "it's a crime against the public" but it's a logistics issue, not a moral one.

IMO, still hasn't sold out because Asian market full of the YoS different editions, and this - one of the simplest. Btw, bought it to put together with "20for20" coins. For me - The Year of the Snake coin is the $15 Lunar Calendar Scalloped.

I cant' see why not the mint could not sell bullion to the public,it would be like any other coin they sell.Take for example the 20for 20 all they have to do is put a limit of 250,000, no big deal.

They used to sell bullion several years ago. Their spot prices was the opening price of the day before. I think that was only available in stores. Anyways, I was told they got rid of it due too maintainability. Who knows. Perth Mint sells billion
