Well, I clearly remember, that stated last month, that I wish "Impression" coin to be 1oz - then I would buy it. But here we are - RCM did issue "Impression" 1 full oz of Silver, just according to my request - and I just not impressed. The coin is "nice to have", maybe it will be looking great in the middle of the RCM O Canada 5-coin box together with Maple Canopy Seasons, but still something prevent me from ordering it - maybe "plain", maybe simple ...do not know Someone planning to buy one?

For the 1oz Impression coin, I will wait till I saw the actual coin before deciding to get it or not. The red colour is made of enamel (not regular paint), which if done right could be very nice..

That's good idea. This coin makes associations with the "Poppy Silver Dollar", where among many flower only one, enameled. But in that case the "background" for the coin was stronger, here kind of art only.

It seems like a ploy to try to get people to call in directly and order the coin. I find it hard to believe that with a limit of one per house hold the coin could sell that fast...but then again I'm no expert so I could be wrong.

Alot of the coins were sent to coin dealers before release on the mint site, I don't know how many the mint actually sell from their site, Maybe half the mintage or less?

The coins that are shown as awaitng stock often come back. The Bathygnathus Dino was awaiting stock a few days ago and now is available again.
A large allotment goes to Canada Post, then there are Duck Subcribers, and dealers get a huge chunk.

For those interested in the Northern Lights Hare coin, here's a photo of the coin in hand. The holographic effect isn't as pronounced as the dreamcatcher coin.

Ya I really like the Banknotes coin , its the first in a series with 8500 mintage, looks like a winner. The hare above looks good too.

Quote: Ya I really like the Banknotes coin Buy it due to this reason only. If you have a budget. As we can see there are not a few coins from the previous years (let's say 2007-2008) that became "winners" from "just another coin". I said previously that there is a "Cupid coin", now, I still see the Cupid, but I like the coin. Just do not interesting I banknotes - so will not buy it. Added: BTW, RAM also just issued couple of coins for the Centenary of Australian Banknotes. their coins interesting, have more classical look, but RCM's more "alive". Here the link to ebay auction (you also can see them on RAM Mint's site): http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-UNCIRC...em43bc3c632b

After seeing the banknote coin in person, I too like it. The detail is great and it looks like a coin that could be showcased as a standalone because of the detail. I can just picture it on a coin easel. I think I'll pick one up at my dealer too.
As for the Northern Lights coin that I posted a picture of, I'm not too impressed. I purchased it on behalf of another coin collector and it just doesn't speak to me. The hare looks a bit like a blob, except for the ears.
