details are nice

looks like its trying to tone over a cleaning...i see lots of lines in the mirrors, I know there are some serious rusted dies in this year and mm and all of those marks could be related to that. I also think I see doubling in the ON(E) and (D)IME on the reverse. Could be a die crack on the obverse running through the rock. This coin could benefit from further analysis against the reference guide for a variety attribution as you certainly have something.

Thanks for responding.. It definitely is a die crack running through the rock. As far as the doubling I'm going to get out my loupe and look a lot closer to see if it is indeed doubling on the reverse. If it is, I'll take some macro shots of the reverse to show it. My pictures didn't show it but there is some really nice toning going on. I don't know if it's been cleaned in the past or not. Can't really tell. I was unaware of the rusted dies of this year/mm combination.

I'll say it grades EF-45, maybe AU-50 but probably no more. Pretty looking coin!

Thanks Panzaldi, it was my father who got me into coin collecting at the age of 8. Now 45 years later I'm still hooked on the hobby.

The coin has some real nice toning that my photos didn't really show too well. In response to an earlier poster, the reverse does show impressive doubling in the 'O' in One and 'D' in dime. I'll be posting some photos of this tonight.
