Most of the coins in the collection I'm going through are fairly well organized, but there's a pile in a jewelry box that are a hodge-podge. One of them stuck out as a potentially really old copper coin. I couldn't make out much more than "?STH?". It's a really tiny coin. I included a quarter for comparison.

Also, there's some little trinket or coin that someone soldered on a ring to to make into jewelry. I'm guessing it was never a legitimate coin, as it's worn down to nothing on one side, but is in good shape on the other (although if it was worn as jewelry, perhaps that's plausible). I'm guessing it's a tourist trinket or something, but it was in the same box, so I figured I'd tack it on for a shot at a two-for-one identification.

I also found a William III Shilling tonight, but it's so warn, it's almost completely smooth, and I can't get a date off of it. Bummer.

Thanks, that's a huge help in getting started. Didn't even notice the chi-rho symbol, but it's there.

I believe the first piece is an VRBS ROMA Commemorative coin. Dating to around the 330's AD.

First is real, unlike the second, and commemorates the city of Constantinople.
