52Raymo-you reminded me that I had an old merc album also. (I have a complete set of better grade also). I bought this at a coin club auction a couple of years ago, 51 old merc's, I think I won it for a little over $100.

Since you guys are looking for 'well worn' Merc's... PLEASE let me know if you bump into any good deals 'shiny, higher grade (unslabbed and not cleaned) '19S, '21D, '31S or '34D's. Those are the Merc's I want to updgrade.

I started something similar awhile back when silver prices started to drop.

Since then, I've tried to buy 1 roll of Mercs, per month, from my local dealers melt bucket. I've managed to fill a few holes and I'm only missing the 16d, 19d, 21p and the 21d now.

Wow that's nice, I like the old Whitman's too. I would replace some of the shiny/purdy ones with worn/circulated ones.

Nope!

In all honesty, I'm tickled that I've been able to find this many so far.

I know I'll eventually have to pay extra to fill the 3 keys. I'm still hoping I'll find the 19d in the melt bucket.

I'm keeping a log of every dime I spend to complete the old album and will give a grand total upon finishing. (see what I did there with "dime" ? )

Maybe I should have a contest to see who can guess the closest. Of course that might be without the 1942/1, it may take me quite some time to find one in around AG3-G4 or something close to that.
