You could post summary photos of the album every five coins or so. Just an idea.

Each slide contains two rows and I'm waiting on a 1919-P to take a pic of the first 2 rows. I'm trying to go in order but it's hard when I see a nicely worn one.

I love that 16D. It is a sweet Fair.
I just threw out a whole bunch of those albums. I sold off the coins that were in them on consignment and the former owner was a heavy smoker. The coins got some wicked toning from being in that environment, but the albums just smelled too badly. I was tempted to keep them, but I just could not handle the smell. Truth be told, it was kind of giving me nic fits. LOL I quit smoking 3 years ago.

Wow Don, you sound like me, I quit smoking about that same time. I like the 16-D also, I just love a good old worn coin with history and that's what this album is all about. Thanks !

52Raymo-yours looks to be in better shape than mine. Inside the cover, it states Copyright, 1959, The Coin and Currency Institute, Inc. yep, now that I pulled it out of hiding, I will have to try to finish it.

I just wish it didn't have a hole for the 1942/1, dang it.

Yep, that 42/1 hole does present a challenge. I am not anxious to buy another 16d either. Just bought one a few months back (G6), it was the last to finish my other merc set (I had all but that one for 2-3 years).

If you could find a coin show you probably could fill the entire Album in one shot. Pending the coin show of course. I went to one last Sunday and just at one dealers table I saw almost every Merc Dime. One dealer even had a Mercury dime Album for sale with all but one coin. And with no postage, handling, paypal, ebay fees, you could save a lot of money. At some of the larger shows coming up in August, there would be no problem filling an entire Album all at one time.

Quote: Awwww that would take all the fun out of it. I like getting things in the mailbox ! Kind of true. However, I just wonder how much money is spent on postage, handling, insurances, pay pal and ebay fees. Yet it is sort of fun every time you look in the mail box and find something. Good luck on a completed album. Merc Dimes are really fantastic coins. If you can see both the front and reverse in your albums, usually it is noticable that about 25% of all Merc Dimes have some reverse rotation.

In both albums I see the rotation you talk about. I like that. As for the ship fees, I'm fine with that, it evens out if I drive to my one local coin shop with my Triton V-10 lol. Plus they huff if I even mention G-VG grades of Mercs. They quit talking to me and I quit going there after that.

Coin shows in Oregon are few and far between. Our next one is over on the coast mid August. I'm gonna go though and I will look for some old albums of all types. You guys have given me something to ponder. I love this place !
