I really like this one. I like the very fine details mixed with what looks like acid dropped on the left side. I just think it's interesting, what do you think?

I believe that the damage is verdigris (green stuff) that was removed from the coin.

She was a pretty lady before she fell into the ground. Now she's a rare 11-1/2 star variety..

VG-F Details. Actually, corrosion comes in many forms; not all which came from the ground. This appears to be centralized indicating possible storage in moisture for an extended period. Any old copper is good copper :-)

I don't know about you but I'm on a tight numismatic budget. I would not want to spend anything on a coin like that.
I try to buy coins that I will be satisfied with and not think "hole filler" or "to be upgraded later".

It's almost like she's flinching from getting acid splashed in his face! I kinda like her!

Your coin kind of creeps me out. It really looks like a zombie with a perfect eye socket pit going on there. But, I also buy ugly coins sometimes if I think they're interesting. This coin had a nice lamination crack on the reverse and what looks like remnants of an annealing error that someone picked off the coin. The obverse is just gross, but I love the reverse enough to make up for it. Even if your coin is ugly as long as you like it, that's all that matters.

downtownsf, I do like the crack on the back of that large cent. and at least the head and year are in good condition on the obverse. but yes, as long as I like it, then its fine! I think it's really interesting actually.

It seems people buy large cents in all sorts of conditions. If you like it, that is all that really matters. It is also not the most common late thirties matron head. How much did you pay for it?

She's so ugly she's pretty... to bad for the corrosion she has VG+ details. I have a friend who only collects upper grade problem coins, he has some nice coins but don't know what he is gonna do with them when the time comes to sell.

I have problem Large Cents because quite frankly, I can't afford some of the original keys. Bottom line if you like it, that's the only opinion that matters. Enjoy!
