his response.... "Yes, and email will be sent out"

So does anyone know if this will be the first time that an infant, possible future monarch will appear or be represented on a coin here, the UK, wherever?

Spain's Alfonso XIII appeared as an infant on their coinage - circa 1890

Quote: Spain's Alfonso XIII appeared as an infant on their coinage - circa 1890 Alphonso XIII's case is a bit different - he was the King of Spain from the moment of his birth on 17 May 1886 due to the death of his father on 25 November 1885. So, he appeared on the coinage of Spain as its reigning monarch not a future king.

As an infant, on Canadian coins, yes. We had the princes on the Continuity of the Crown $15 Ultra High Relief series in 2011 and that's the closest I can think of.

Thanks for the info. So it would be a first time for Canada, and I understand the UK as well. The Spanish coin is the only other from what I see and as mentioned, he was a ruling monarch already. So this set would be a definite first for what it symbolizes, a specific infant. Should be a real collectible.

As a collector, I will pick up 1 if I have the choice. As Alfonso, I would take 2. Judging from the conversation on RFD, I would suspect they will sell out vey quickly.

I do not catch why the people are so enthusiast about this future release... I not really impress by this event after all and putting 250$ on a set for a royal baby born sounds crazy for me... Please help me to understand that! It's not like we have a man who walk on the moon or the invention of the atomic bomb!

I believe, for most collectors it just theoretically nicelly designed 3 silver coins 1 oz each (good price for RCM 1 oz coins) stored in nice case. In addition to above - potentially great resell value. What for collectors needed 2 and more 2012 Penny sets? This is the same, IMO.
